There are cross-pieces to put in between the middle posts for stability, but I actually only used the bottom one in each case, and that seems to be enough to stabilize and keep the long sides from bowing out. They are very attractive once set up, as well!
Edit to add: 4 years later, this season I'm starting to see some breakdown of materials. Some of the corner posts are starting to disintegrate, as well as quite a few of the boards have warped and gotten soft. The center boards that are completely buried are definitely dissolving. I may have one more winter growing season before I need to replace some/all of it. But come on, FOUR YEARS of complete exposure to some significant moisture extremes (we bounce back and forth between drought and flood here in Houston) and blazing temps is going to take a toll. Being a realist, I still couldn't be happier with this purchase, and will likely replace with more of the exact same!

The size is just as described and it is a deep bed for the price and an overall nice size. The design is great since you can add on to it.
Had I paid more, I might expect more but is 5 star for the price, design and ease of assembly and it is just as described.
The only con that I have is that the boards were not protected from moisture well enough in the cardboard packaging.

Putting the boxes together was very easy.
For my setup, I had placed cardboard down, then topped it with mulch and set up the boxes facing south on top. I did add a layer of landscape fabric on the bottom of the boxes. I had ordered 2 cubic yards of soil mix from local nursery and filled all the boxes. Not an easy task and it took all of the soil I purchased to fill the boxes to the top. I then put landscape fabric across the top of the boxes to avoid any cats from using the boxes as their potty box or squirrels burying their nuts. Haven't put the cap ends on yet and will probably do that next year. I'm still looking at viable fencing to put up. Waiting to see how the boxes hold up over the winter.

I decided to investigate raised garden beds. I had used 2 kiddie pools as gardens in the past. I bought two of these. I ended up buying two of these and raising them by building them on sheets of plywood that are off the floor using cheap concrete bricks ($.25 each at Lowes). I built them on our large brick patio, bought two sheets of plywood, securing the bed to the floor using wood screws. I drilled holes in the plywood for draining and stapled landscape fabric to the bottom inside.
We're using the 1 foot garden method so we also mapped out grids after the soil is in. Buy the soil in bulk it's a lot cheaper than bags at the local nursery. Cool to see a dump truck pull up and dump it on your driveway.
Assembly was very easy, our kids helped with mallets. The only down side is the wet pine boards warped after sitting for a while. I contacted Greenes and they sent me replacement boards. I had about 25% of them warp as they dried out.
Raised gardens are great, soil is pre-prepped so the plants just take almost immediately. Just had a Margharita pizza with fresh basil yesterday after only 1-2 weeks.
