The USA version of this instrument displays the metric units (mbar) on the inner scale and imperial units (inHg) on the outer scale.

This beautiful nautical instrument is made from the finest materials, and is at home with any marine decor.

This is the best reasonably-priced aneroid barometer on the market. Fischer has been making high-quality meteorological instruments for decades: I bought my first one in 1965. Once I set it up my new instrument (DO read the instruction manual!), it has given atmospheric-pressure readings that are as accurate as those of an NWS automated station located about a kilometer from my location. All aneroid barometers' needles "stick" a bit after any change in pressure, but all that's needed is a single GENTLE finger-tap on the glass faceplate to dislodge the needle. I usually limit this to once a day; twice during rapid changes in the weather. You will find that this instrument is most accurate at altitudes that range from sea level to about 3,000 feet. This newer version of the instrument seems to be more solidly built than my older instrument. If you hang it on a wall, ensure that the wall hook is strong enough to hold the instrument, and that the wall itself is not adjoining doors and windows that are opened and closed a lot, as strong vibrations and physical shocks of any kind cause inaccurate readings and will degrade the instrument's mechanism.

Sturdy, well made and accurate. This little beauty isn't plastic, but real wood and brass, but made of solid metal, German-engineered components and a nice, solid wood frame. So far it's been perfectly in keeping with the local weather stations, and I expect it will keep on being spot-on accurate for a long time to come. It's exactly what I was hoping for. And it looks good!
It also arrived in good time and in good shape, despite some mangling of the outer box. The inner box and packaging protected it beautifully.

This was accurate, but disappointed that it stopped working after having it only 9 months. Now I have to deal with warranty stuff. Note, the pamphlet that came with it said it had a 5 year limited warranty, but when you go on their website, it is only one year. False advertising.

This is a very good looking barometer and well made. Unfortunately, it isn't very accurate. I have this indoors for several months, including warm weather where windows are always open. It never seems to move from "Very Dry", even during days of heavy rain.
