I bought it to do dips when I found out dips are a great exercise to workout the lower chest since push ups only workout the upper chest. Dips are also a great way to workout all of the tricep muscles, so a dip station like this is a must have. I checked with customer service to see if it's really rated for 3,000 pounds instead of 300 pounds, and the representative said yes, it is 3,000 pounds. The other dip stations I looked at only rated up to about 250 pounds. So this dip station is about 10 times more durable than some others available for about the same price.
The other really great thing about this dip station is that I can now do inverted rows with it. Inverted rows work out all the same muscles as pull ups/chin ups. I've read a couple of books that say that possible injury can result from doing an exercise that one cannot do at least eight reps with. I've had a pull up/chin up bar I was using that I couldn't do at least eight reps with, so inverted rows are perfect with this dip station. If someone can't do at least eight reps on a pull up/chin up bar, then this dip station is also a must have for inverted rows as well as dips.
If someone can't do at least eight reps of dips, then they just have to keep their feet on the ground. Bending my knees is enough to do dips without touching the ground. Dips and inverted rows are a complete arm exercise with both pushing with dips) and pulling with inverted rows covered. I really like this dip station in particular because it is the only one that is actually parallel that I could find. Most, if not all, of the others are slightly trapezoidal. The price for this dip station was good too. The only items similar to this that are substantially cheaper are parallettes, and those aren't tall enough.
With parallettes, people have to hold their entire legs out in front of them to do dips, and it seems harder to imagine an option to assist with their feet on the ground if they wanted to with parallettes because, either way, people would have to be very flexible with their legs. With dip stations, people only have to bend their knees. This dip station should be tall enough for anyone who just bends their knees. Since it's rated for 3,000 pounds, there's room for me to grow by eventually doing weighted dips and weighted inverted rows on this dip station too.
Also the stabilizers/feet on the bottom do not screw down all the way tight. I tried screwing them until they would no longer move easily, and it pulled the press-fit nuts out of the feet (akin to stripping the nut) so now they're forever loose unless I think up some other modification. Lol.
But I got a used one for $40, so can't complain really. 4 stars.
Don't buy this until you plan on using a hammer and drill to get the top to fit together and a trip to the hardware store to get the proper screws.
The quality assurance on this product is horrible.
The only caveats as mentioned elsewhere are that the stabilizing blocks had to be screwed on from the bottom up making aligning them a bit more difficult (not sure if this is intentional but seemed odd) and that there is a slight unevenness to how the bars sit on the floor at rest (but no wobbling and the unit sits flush with the floor when you start an exercise with no shifting at all).
Compare to those two, this is the best dip station i've ever had, quality and price wise.
I was worried after reading all bad reviews but this dip station is very good.
I do dips, hand standing push ups, inverted row etc on it.
Pros
Evrery parts and frames are aligned
Easy to assemble
No scratch and any marks on product
Two handles are totally parallel.(Handles of Ultimate body press dip station are angled differently to each other and it's super annoying)
Staisfying Height and width(Its not that wide as others said. Im 5'9'' and long enough for me)
Very sturdy and doesn't wobble( Im 165lb and doing dips with 80lb weighted vest on)
Cheaper than any others
Cons
Late Delivery(It took 13 days though Im prime memeber)

The only problem is that it was shipped in a box that the corners got destroyed and the plastic bag with all the screws was open and I had to collect them all in the grooves of the box, but luckily all of the pieces were accounted for (with extras). They could improve on that. That's my only recommendation for the manufacturer.
