The Walker Tape Story

Walker Tape started out of curiosity. After years of working in the hair replacement industry, founder Brent Bonham had a question. Was there a better way to produce innovative products by building custom machinery? Over the past 30 years, this question has been answered over and over again with a resounding, “Yes!”. In 1985, the journey began by producing products in Brent’s basement. It didn’t take very long for Brent to start thinking of and building new machinery, transforming tedious manual processes into fully automated systems. It also didn’t take very long for Walker Tape to outgrow the basement and become established in the industry. Under the direction of Brent’s grandson and current CEO, Shane Stott, Walker Tape has also developed innovative products in the hair extension, fashion, and sports industries.

    The BEST ADHESIVE!!
    This adhesive is pretty true to its word;however, if you’re not good a applying it correctly it will be very messy as a result! When I do apply it I apply it to the tape on my wig cap after I have tape it down properly... I make sure to keep the adhesive bottle close to where I want to apply the glue so if it drops it’s closer to my designated area than it running and dipping everywhere.. I use the brush that comes in the adhesive bottle and spread the glue over the tape evenly and dry with a blow dryer for 5to7 minutes til it becomes tacky and I’m good to go with my installation hopefully this can help some newbies out!! It really doesn’t take too much glue to make it spread out enough, it mostly depends on how close you are to your tape on your head! Plus it helps to remove the extra glue that eventually runs down the brush make sure to allow as much glue to run back into the bottle first if the first directions are too complicated especially if it’s your first time applying it to your units

    The works decently well I have combination skin, and tend to sweat a lot when it’s gets hotter with that being said it’s been 80 degrees for the past week so my install only lasted 2 days and 2 nights of being in my head before one side started lifting which is unfortunate as I get the same hold with ghost bond but it did hold up a bit better to my sweat than ghost bond but over I was not too happy with the glue my bottle didn’t stand up correctly and ended spilling out on my counter and was a hassle to clean up, if you don’t know what your doing the glue is extremely difficult to apply especially as it doesn’t dry it stays tacky so I noticed it stepped through and a bit into my hair which made my install feel less natural overall I wouldn’t recommended the product unless your a professional who has either worked with this glue or one similar to it

    I used Ghost Bond for about 7 months and started in the summer. It would come lose within a week, sometimes days, and that's with 3 layers. The humidity, and the sweating from working out, it left me self-conscious. Sure, at first I was able to keep it on for 3-4 weeks, but as soon as I wanted to do active things, it would start to slip.

    Fast forward to Walker and I must say... your unit isn't going anywhere. I use 2 layers and forget it. This sucker is on through all the workouts, rock climbing, sweating, and I have a poly unit. But this stuff is strong. The only real issue is remembering that I have something on my head and that I need to remove it once a month.

    My only real gripe is the edges. It does dry with a lil sheen, so I use the ghost for that. Otherwise, this is the best stuff out there.

    Also, here's a tip. Don't use the applicator that comes with it. Use a cosmetic spatula and gloves, all of which you can find on amazon. Take care not to get it anywhere, it can get messy if you're not paying attention. On the last note, this bottle lasts almost 8 months for me.

    I'm new to using hair glue and this is the only glue that holds for me. I have heat intolerance and sweat randomly and excessively and it stays put. I even had a fully submerged shower and still held well. Too many times my closure has lifted in public due to inadequate glue.
    However the application is annoying and messy.
