Great for right situations

Great for right situations
I'm giving these 5 stars because I'm not familiar with any other product on the market at a similar price point. Although these are sturdy enough to be used as everyday crutches, my other crutches feel slightly more sturdy and are more comfortable. I purchased these strictly for travel and was not disappointed. I was able to fold them with two hands (not 4 as other reviews suggest) but it does require practice and you must use leverage off of your thigh or chest. Also, I only folded the crutch once and just collapsed the bottom of the crutch into the frame (it just slides up into the frame if you press the levers). The downside of this technique is that the crutch is not as compact (see pic). Without this, you might need 4 hands. This is hard to explain but it will make sense once you have them. I would estimate it took me about 15 seconds per crutch to unfold once I mastered this. I used these with my knee scooter. For example because I was non-weight bearing, I used the crutches to get on and off the plane and didn't have to wait for a wheel chair.

If you're on a tight budget, these get the job done. Take caution, however, because the other reviews that say it hurts the underarms is true. This was my first time with crutches, and I read some of the negative reviews before purchasing, but I was on a tight budget and figured maybe my experience would be better. Well, having any crutches is better than nothing when you have a broken ankle. If I were to purchase crutches again in the future (hopefully never again no need) I would choose something better even if I have to pay more. These hurt the underarms quite a bit. The reviews are true. You've been warned.
