Bike was received on 3/5/20
My first impressions is that it arrived well packaged and all the part were there, it's built like a tank ie it's built to last for years, fit and finish were first class, welds clean and smooth , good paint job.
A lot of thought went into this bike and a lot of good QC is evident in the one I received, that's appreciated as a consumer.
The assembly wes a snap, even a caveman did it. Give yourself a lot of room and have a trash can and box cutter handy.
The instructions were simple, pictures accurate and the tools that came all worked and were easy to use and worth keeping.
Adjustments are easy, and the bike works great plenty of resistance and it gave me the workout I wanted and expected.
I went over the whole machine and checked tightness and the only thing I found was the screws on the fan cage were a bit loose, no big deal.
I'll give it five stars out of the gate and update if needed.
A word of warning this bike is heavy, for some it might be best to have two people do the assembly and moving, I'm 71 but had no trouble at all doing it. But then I'm a tough old bird. ;)
An update: The only thing I hate about the bike is that for $728.00 bucks you'd get a monitor that had a backlight in it. This is the feedback I left on the assault site.
*******************
I really like the overall machine, fit, finish, ease of assembly, all first class, gives a great workout all five stars.
However that being said
The readout/electronics are pretty darn sad for an exercise bike that hit the floor at home here at $728.00 one would expect at the very least a screen that had a backlight feature so the user could see what the hell they are accomplishing.
Someone went cheap on the design at the end, I guess I could get a headband with a light on it or carry a flashlight to see the screen in my teeth.
First of all, do the delivery guy a favor, meet him at the truck. This weighs 110 lbs and my delivery guy was not a happy camper. I did not see it exit the truck, but I imagine it may have jumped out as he struggled with just getting it on the dolly. But we avoided the front stairs and wheeled it right into the garage.
Opening it was not too bad, just followed the youtube video along with the brochure included. Though, the youtube video doesn't mention that all the bolts are already in their place now, not in a separate bag. This was a good update to the assembly process. Keep that in mind as you assemble using the video. I think it is a two person job to assemble, but it can be done by one person.
The only thing I don't like is that it makes a loud beep when you start to pedal. Easy remedy is to rip out the batteries. But then you cannot see the rpms and all, which make it fun. The timer has a teeny shelf on it just enough to put a phone if you are doing an easy bike and want to watch a video, but be wary of getting in the way of the handlebars. Oh, it also makes a loud beep a few minutes after you are done, that beeping really needs to be adjustable.
The bike is very sturdy. No thin, weak metal anywhere here. Seems to be very well designed. The handles are just far enough away from the rest. The seat probably could be more comfy, but they do have one you can buy or you can cushion it, I guess. The fan is great when you pedal faster. It gets louder as you go faster. Like a hair dyer to leaf blower maybe? Hard to say, I get lost in the moment of pedaling. Nothing seems to rattle or move other than the things that are supposed to.
I have yet to try the "as fast as you can go in a minute" that I have seen on youtube, but I have done as fast "as I can go before taking my exhausted self off the bike" (just 15 seconds at 75 rpms does it and I am complete jelly.) I actually look forward to using it. I think you should buy the things that make you want to workout, not to dread it and eventually make it an expensive clothes hanger. My husband and I like to compete with each other and this will be perfect for that. The bike is also quite compact, unlike some other bikes and ellipticals or treadmills. It fits well within the workout mat that we have for it. It also has wheels on one end to roll it out of the way, if necessary.
