Product Description
The QEP Wet Tile Saw is ideal on job sites where space prohibits the use of a large wet saw. The 3/5 HP, high-torque motor and included 4 in. continuous rim diamond blade cuts through unlimited sizes of ceramic, marble, slate and stone tile up to 3/4 in. thick. This tile saw even cuts mosaic tile and backsplash tile for DIY projects. The water system not only reduces water runoff, it recycles the water back into the reservoir, minimizing refill frequencies. This dependable wet saw includes dual extension tables to support larger tiles and a hinged cutting table for miter cuts. A 4 in. blade with a 5/8 in. arbor is required. For cutting porcelain and hard tiles, we recommend using the QEP Black Widow Blade, sold separately.

I used this wet-saw to cut tile for a kitchen backsplash. I had only intended to use it one time and then throw it out (a great use of $50). However, after using it it's still in great shape. I changed my mind and I'm going to hold onto it in case I need it in the future.
I do see how this could be considered "flimsy" or "like a toy" or "cheap" as other reviews have commented. However, these qualities did not effect the usability of this product at all, and it was easy to forget about them once you got started. Is it made from cheap materials - yes. But, if you're expecting something made out of metal (not plastic), and something bigger (not small like this), then you need to go and spend more than $50 somewhere else and buy (or rent) an expensive wet-saw (and for no good reason)!
Just get this saw - it's all you need.
QEP is plastic. Easy to set up once you figure out how to slide in the blade in the right order of pieces to secure. The water tank is easy to fill. I overfilled and it leaked, but once I got the hang of it, it was easy to monitor the water and add to, no stupid slide out tray that poured everywhere trying to push back into place. By the end of the working day, it had captured a lot of tile dust as putty. The shield keeps the water from spraying. Keep it low, bend over to cut and the water spray is minimal. Switch off and push the guard down and it catches all the spray as it slows to a stop. The casing recycles most of the water. For plastic, this is sturdy enough for my 30-foot tile kitchen backsplash. Easy to clean, it's not going to rust. I stuck it under the tap and cleaned the reservoir and table top, caught the wastewater in a bucket so as not to screw up my sink and pipes.
Definitely recommend this.
This tile saw should be illegal to sell as much as it vibrates. I used the poorly written instructions to put it together, not all the pieces fit and unlike what is mentioned in the Q&A, the glass tile saw available at local hardware stores...doesn't fit this saw. In all honesty, I really believe I received a dud.
I didn't contact Amazon and instead contacted QEP as the big red stop sign sticker indicated. They admitted that the vibration was excessive and recommended I return it to the retailer because there was nothing they could/would do. It was an "oh well, hope you can return it because that saw is low quality so good luck" response. I'd had it more than a month before pulling it out of the box so I couldn't return it.
Lesson learned: Don't buy these kinds of products off Amazon and don't purchase QEP products. I ended up renting a saw (which I wanted to avoid and is the reason I bought this one because it was less than the rental) and now I'm out of twice as much money and have a useless tool on my garage shelf. You get what you pay for.
