From the manufacturer

Less Strain, More Gain

The Rockwell 4-1/2” compact circular saw is about 50% lighter than conventional 7-1/4” saws.

More Maneuverable

Our compact circular saw weighs only 5 lbs, so it’s easy to transport and maneuver, especially overhead.

Get a Grip

The slim, inline grip design provides great comfort, balance and control.

See Clearly

The left-handed blade design provides remarkable cut-line visibility.

Good on Wood

This saw was born to cut wood, especially 2" nominal lumber materials – breezes thru 2x4s in a single pass.

Small Size, Big Performance

The 4-1/2” blade has a kerf less than half the thickness of larger 7-1/4” blades. The smaller, thinner blade means less effort and motor strain so the 5-amp, 3,500 rpm matches the performance of full-size circular saws.

Product Description

The Rockwell 4-1/2” Compact Circular Saw is an effective and hassle-free replacement for a traditional circ saw. Just grab it and go when you need to make some quick rip or plunge cuts—no need to lug out the bulky full-size saw. Even though it has the functionality to handle all sorts of projects, this saw was made for 2” lumber, cutting 2x4s in a single pass. Its lightweight design (only 5 lbs) allows for better control of the tool so you can operate it with just one hand. And it makes overhead cutting much more of a possibility than with a full-size saw. The grip is comfortable to use for extended periods. And the smaller blade allows the 5-amp motor to spin it up to 3,500 rpm, achieving the speeds of much larger saws while putting less strain on the motor for more efficient energy usage and increased life of the tool. The easy to access depth adjustment lever allows for a maximum cutting depth of 1-11/16” at 90. While the bevel lever lets you make the most common angled cuts from 0-45, with a maximum cutting depth of 1-1/8” on those cuts. Again, this saw excels at 2x4s, but is also awesome on plywood, hardwood flooring, pegboard, dowels, molding and more. Comes with one 24T TCT blade, a parallel guide, vacuum adapter, and blade key.

Heads up on the 3 Year Limited Warranty - only 2 years if you do not register by mail
This review is not about the tool itself, which I have not used enough to give my opinion.I wrote this little review because it appears that the 3 year limited warranty printed on the box and in the included warranty paper is in reality a 2 year warranty unless if your postcard makes it to Rockwell - registered mail anyone? In brief:The included Limited warranty paper states that you have to register online or mail the postcard but there is no evident way to register online on the US website! Should the postcard get lost in the mail, the warranty goes down to two years. You may also want to keep the original box in case you decide that you want to return the item within the 30 days window.I have attached the warranty that came in the box to help you make an informed decision.
