EM1500
Designed for cutting efficiency and corded power for convenient yard care, the BLACK+DECKER EM1500 corded mower with Edge Max starts easily with just a push of a button, offering a smart, no-mess alternative to gas powered lawn mowers. You'll save time by eliminating the frustration of pull cords, the hassle of mixing gas and oil, trips to the gas station, and engine maintenance.
Featuring a 10 amp motor and 15 inch light-weight deck, the EM1500 has a cutting height range of 1 inch to 3 inches, plus a convenient single lever height adjustment raises or lowers all four wheels simultaneously. The durable and lightweight cutting deck never rusts and is easy to clean. For convenient storage, the mower's handle folds down so it fits nicely in small spaces in sheds or garages.
Part of the BLACK+DECKER Edge Max family, this 15-inch mower's wheels are positioned in-line with the cutting blade, offering up-to-the-edge cutting along fences and landscape borders. Ideal for yards up to 3,750 square feet, the EM1500 also features PowerDrive technology, which offers high-torque cutting of tall and damp grass.
To help keep extension cords tangle free, a cord wrap system is mounted on the Mowers for convenient management and storage of power cords. A power cord holder slides along the Mower’s handle to prevent the power cord from getting in the way or underfoot.

Even though I gave it 5 stars I should point out a couple issues I have with it. The power handle that you need to pull to start the mower sometimes feels as it is going to break if I hold it too hard while mowing.
And on several occasions the blade has dropped from 2 3/4 inches to 1 inch unexpectedly causing an uneven cut in my lawn.
The benefits of this mower are I so not have to worry about gas and oil.
The edging is awesome on this thing. I have not bought a trimmer as this works perfect.
The grass catcher is a great size and has a compacter handle.
It moves well through my yard front and back. It takes me 40 minutes to cut both
The handle though, the part that you press down in order to keep the mower running is a little hard on the hands after about 20 minutes.
This mower does chop up small sticks and leaves, but watch out for rocks. They shoot out the back of the mower and hit ya in the legs and leave a good sized bruise.
I was quite surprised by how low quality this item was. Everything is plastic and rather flimsy feeling. The cord holder was broken before it even came out of the box and the grass collection bag is visibly worn after only using it for the front yard (not a large area.) Obviously it isn't an expensive mower, but was expecting more from a Black and Decker. This feels like a toy and I am waiting to see how long it takes before another part breaks off.
Good for a small yard or if you want to try out a corded electric mower, but I wouldn't buy it again or recommend it. I got it to upgrade from a manual push mower, so the bar was set pretty low.
I had a previous B&D electric mower which was much heavier than this one. Pushing it wore me out and I could only do about 1/4 of my yard at a time. This smaller lighter mower is fantastic. I was able to do 2/3 of the lawn and only stopped because it was getting dark and not because I was worn out. My 5 stars is based on the maneuverability and ease of mowing. I absolutely love it! It's also quieter than my previous mower. It sounds more like a vacuum cleaner than a mower.
The only thing I am less than impressed with is the grass catcher (3 star- it's ok). I much prefer the lighter mesh bag on my previous mower which was easier to empty. This plastic box grass catcher is smaller, but seem to hold about the same amount with it's compressor feature, however it takes longer to empty and the grass doesn't fall out as easily. However, The maneuverability and ease of pushing this mower far outweighs the grass catcher.
On the positive side: it's super lightweight, so much so that it almost feels like a toy mower; it's comparatively inexpensive; the cutting edge gets within one inch of trees and posts; it's great with small flat lawns and grass under 5 inches.
On the negative side: it's narrow, which means more trips up and down a lawn; it's a lot like mowing with an electric fan in that it can't handle thick and tall grass; clippings tend to pile up in the mulching gate and are difficult to remove later during cleanup; the lever you must strain to hold clamped all the way down in order to keep the motor turning produces extreme right hand strain, and you are reduced to nearly one-arm steering, which is yet another struggle. I see no reason why they couldn't have made this with a simple on/off switch, thus freeing up both hands for maneuvering. Bottom line: I like it despite the drawbacks. At this price, if it works for just one season, you've got your money's worth.

I would give this mower 5 stars if it weren't for the assembly problem I had! The little hole on the right side of the handle didn't line up with the screw hole. I wrestled for 30 minutes trying every angle to reach the hole but to no aveil! I finally tried one of my own screw, a similar screw with a pointy tip... it worked! PHEW! otherwise, I would have had to return the unit to Amazon....
Assembling the grass catcher went without a itch, unlike what I'd read from some other reviewers.
MOWING:
The body of the EM1500 is so narrow, looks like a TOY but cuts the grass like a gas mower, perfect cut every time. The blade is as large the mower, so the cutting spand is truly 15 inches, not less.
The result is really really neat compared to the push mower I owned. Much easier to push and easier to manoeuver.
The grass catcher gets full quite fast. When it does, the mower tends to tip backward. When that happens, it's time to empty it. It is easy to pull out and pull back on. They say leaving clippings on the lawn is better for the grass, so I might not use the grass catcher in the future.
The only down side has to be the electric cord! It is a nuisance, especially when there are many obstacles (pool, swing set) in the way, making it impossible to make straight lines.
CONCLUSION:
I recommend this mower for small to medium size lawn and especially for women.
Assembly was a snap -- literally. The plastic pieces were not as flimsy as some of the reviewers had suggested or implied; the assembly went smoothly, especially if you follow the sequence in the guide.
Yes, the holes used to insert screws/bolts to connect the handle to the main unit did not align perfectly. However, a firm application of the screwdriver meant the bolt did align the main body and the handles without the need to drill holes. I suspect it would be easier to attack the lower half of the handle to the main body first, to allow for the minimal rotation that might be needed to align the holes. That would be the only improvement I can imagine.
The grass collection unit is larger than I expected and includes a simple device to compress the clippings, a feature I overlooked in researching mowers. The cord-holders etc are much appreciated and there is a handy guide to suggest how to mow a lawn without getting into problems with the cord.
There were a number of electric mowers in the same price range but I could not detect any significant difference in parts or implied durability; it is a plastic mower and, yes, the wheels do appear fragile but, in truth, they are no more (or less) durable than on most mowers these days.
Yes, you could spend several hundred dollars more for a solid steel mower but for the typical urban lawn, this is a perfectly acceptable product that is not as noisy as a gasoline-powered mower and, arguably, is better for the environment.
Easy assembly. Great price.
