I do not use the VLAN feature, but it is nice to know that it is an option.
The GUI is fairly straightforward, but like anything else if you don't know what you are doing then you can mess things up. Like most consumer level routers, there is a RESET button if that should happen. Unlike most consumer routers, there is no Wi-Fi. If you want wireless, you must purchase wireless access points to supplement this unit.
This particular purchase is going into a more volatile environment, so I will revise my review over the next couple of months if it starts behaving badly. If this is May 2017 and the review has not been revised, then I stand by the above review.
I'd tried a Draytek Vigor dual-WAN router previously but was limited, even with all features disabled, to about 225Mbps in WAN speed. On a recent speed test, I managed 750Mbps down, 850Mbps up, and that wasn't even directly connected to the router, but a VM hyper-V host connected to a switch to the router.
Overall, it does what it needs to do well. Docking 1 star off for:
- lack of easy port-redirection from an external IPv4 address + custom port to an internal address:port
- lack of clarity in interface for WAN-balancing options (failback, routing, and relative bandwidth settings are there, but not greatly documented.
