I primarily use the pitcher for cold-brewing mugicha (Japanese barley tea) and Japanese green tea. They're perfect for the hot summer. You can buy mugicha packets also from Amazon (Itoen brand). I usually use 2 bags at a time... and you can keep adding more water until the flavor is too thin when you need to start a new cycle. For green tea, I put loose leaves in a tea bag and overnight, it brews nicely. The tea is nice and clear green color. It would be perfect if the pitcher came with a mesh infuser so you can cold brew any loose leaves. I know Takeya makes one but it is more expensive and the 1Qt capacity is just not enough. Primula is 3Qts so the drinks last quite some time before I have to add more water.
I've not used the infuser attachment yet. I've seen many hotels these days offer fruit/veggie infused water and love them, though I often wonder whether they've been washed and how much pesticide I'm drinking. At home, you can use organic produce. I think 3Qts of organic cucumber-infused water would be wonderful. I can also see using the infuser to cold brew Korean barley tea or roasted corn tea, and you can pick up bags of these in the loose, roasted kernel form at Korean supermarkets such as Hmart or Assi. I'm not sure if the barley kernel are big enough but the corn ones are definitely big enough to remain within the infuser. Will try next.
Got mine for $13, Amazon prime.
to clarify the way this pitcher works, the lid twists on. twisted tight, the pitcher is sealed from any liquid escaping. then a twist or two the Lefty Lucy direction allows liquid to be poured from the pitcher. to access the infuser cage, there is a latch on the handle that when depressed opens (a section of) the lid so the infuser can be added or removed. quite distinct from a regular pitcher.
Primula Today Shake and Infuse Pitcher, 8.2 x 6.4 x 11.1 inches, Red

Very nice pitcher to use. You can shake it around and it doesn't leak. The infuser is very convenient for adding things like oranges, orange peel (scrape off the white pith first), strawberries, or whatever floats your boat. In my experience, four days is about as long as I'd leave anything in the infuser. It's about at the 4-day mark that whatever's in there begins to look like something you don't really want in your drink. YMMV.
Unscrew the top one full turn and gently lift it a bit to break the seal and make pouring easier. (It takes a couple more turns to fully remove the lid.) Then screw the top back on (to seal) before going back into the fridge - just in case, you know... spills and accidents.
My dishwasher uses very hot water so I hand wash the pitcher to prevent possible warping. That brings me to my only complaint; It's SO DARNED HARD TO CLEAN!. The screw-on LID was obviously designed using CAD software, utilizing lots of square, open voids with lots of cross-members to add strength. When washing the lid it's necessary to patiently push a corner of a sponge into the corners of every one of those voids.
Not evident at first is that the round gasket under the screw-on lid is not attached. This gasket is basically a slightly flattened round tube with a slit on one side. (So a cross-section looks like the letter ' C '.) That open design allows debris (sugar, liquid, infused bits) to be trapped in and under this gasket - often without you being able to see it. So it needs to be removed and cleaned every time the pitcher is cleaned. Otherwise, mold might quickly take hold. Even a turn through the dishwasher doesn't always get this gasket clean. On the up-side, mold cannot penetrate the silicone so it can be removed with some careful cleaning.
My own perspective is that if I make two pitchers of tea per week and then keep that pitcher in my very cold refrigerator, the pitcher should only need to be cleaned every other refill. But I can't wait that long with this pitcher because 'stuff' starts accumulating in the voids of the lid and gasket. Stuff like dried tea and sugar, and infused bits. Didn't anyone test this design? So for me, it needs to be fully and tediously cleaned each time it's emptied.
Enough about the cleaning difficulties. Once I was resigned to the cleaning regimen, I found this is the pitcher I wish I'd found years ago. I have knocked the pitcher over on a counter when it was half full (with the lid fully seated) and not one drop spilled. (However, it IS plastic and dropping it off a counter onto the floor might generate enough explosive force to push the screw top off. Hope I don't ever see that. When pouring a glass of tea, I can shake the whole pitcher as hard as I want in order to distribute the sugar and/or infused stuff. And, the screw-in leak-proof lid allows me to store this pitcher in my refrigerator door without worrying about spills!
The bottom line is that functionally, I love this pitcher.
