The OXO Steel Vacuum Wine Pump keeps your wine fresh longer than a traditional cork. The Pump easily extracts air from the bottle, slowing down the oxidation process that can flatten the taste of wine. Not the product advertised. Pictures on amazon do not match what you actually receive. The stoppers are not the same as what is in the box or website. No directions how to use. Also advertised with nice stainless steal look. It doesn’t have it. Box says satisfaction guaranteed. I will be returning ASAP. Don’t waste your money.

I like to enjoy a good glass of red wine while winding down, but it takes me about a week to get through a whole bottle, by which time it turns and I have to use it for cooking or salad dressing. This has worked like a charm for me and has preserved wine well for ~4 days before there's a noticeable change in taste (though the wine remains drinkable for a couple days more). The pump is smaller than I expected, which is also nice for storage. The overall look and functionality of it are definitely 5 star.

My original wine saver was an all plastic pump that came with 2 rubber stoppers. It worked fine but after several years, I could no longer find the right type of stoppers to use with it. (Some how, they would come up missing.) This one caught my eye because of the beautiful shape and because it was made by OXO who, in my opinion makes the best kitchen tools. It is exactly what I expected it to be. Attractive and easy to use. It fits the hand so well and pumps easier than my old plastic pump. I don't usually keep open wine around more than two days, but I tried a three day period to test out this preserver and could not taste a difference in the wine. It comes with two "stoppers" and I purchased two more. As an added bonus, the pump and four stoppers fit in the box the saver comes in, so it makes a great storage container. So glad I made this purchase!

Vacuum wine-bottle stoppers are an essential accessory for a wine lover who doesn't want to either waste a good bottle or drink the whole lot in one and get a nasty hangover. But not all wine stoppers are alike. For such a simple concept, so many brands have come up with unreliable, complex, or even disfunctional [that's you, Rabbit/Metrokane!]. They leak, the pump seizes up....

These OXO stoppers stay sealed for days, they have a neat pressure-release valve, and they work with the very robust OXO pump. I'm sure theere are other kits that work very well too. But I've bought OXO for my homes and for other wine-loving homes that I visit.

I like to innovate to improve things and solve problems. I grind my coffee beans fresh every morning for my 4-shot mocha. But by the end of the 2+ weeks that a pound lasts, they are not as tasty as when purchased. Sooo ... one easy to use OXO wine vacuum pump plus one Dollar Tree plastic funnel plus a couple of clean empty wine bottles, and I have the freshest possible coffee every day. I cut the tip of the funnel down slightly for the max opening that would fit in the bottletop. Just jiggle slightly if the beans start to clog it. Easy to pour out to weigh a portion and if I pour out a but too much, funnel it back in the bottle. I pump it about 18 strokes. Only complaint that cost OXO the last star is that the plugs come apart too easily, but they are also easy to put back together. Another review (a wine drinker) recommended this stylish and well-functioning OXO pump but to buy a pack of replacement plugs from that other I forget which brand.
