I bought this as a replacement for a broken beaker of a Starbucks/Bodum French press. This complete press was less expensive than a beaker. The quality of the Primula press is very good as a whole. The beaker is thick glass and solid. The holder is nicely molded, fits my hand well and is solid. The plunger is very basic, almost minimalist, but it accomplishes what it needs to do, and even has an arrow to show when the lid is lined up with the pour spout. The metal disc that holds the filter screen is thinner than a Bodum, but perfectly adequate for its purpose, and all the parts fit together well. One warning - after you've made the coffee, when the beaker is hot, it WILL slide out of the holder if you hold it upside down! I almost lost it the first time I used it, since before it was hot the beaker seemed to be glued into the holder, the fit was that tight. This is a good unit, well made and simple, and a genuine bargain at half the price of a Bodum or Starbucks French press. I recommend it.

The flavor in my coffee beans is awesome I grind mine each morning...once u know how to work it its easy. Boil ur water while that's boiling put ur ground in the strainer ( if ur grounding them make them course) put the basket down n the water just to cover the coffee let it steep about 5 mins. Then press the strainer down an up an few times. Now notice on ur lid there's two places one let's coffee slowly an the other has a Lil more space that way u hardly get any grounds in ur coffee in ur cup.!!!! An enjoy!!!

Love a French press. Makes great coffee except for the mud left at the bottom of the cup. I use Dunkin’. Can’t grind my own or have it ground more coarse. I work on a tow boat and I get what they send.
There is no strainer for pouring the coffee out to catch the grounds. THAT is the drawback. Otherwise I am pleased. But it is almost a deal breaker for me. I can hardly wait for the day it breaks to get a replacement!😁

I love the vibrant colours of this french press! It brightens up my morning. It seems to be fairly well made for the price. The glass beaker is thick and seems sturdy. No stray coffee grounds made it past the filter into my coffee.

The one flaw I have noticed is that the glass beaker separates from the plastic holder very easily. I gently turned it over to clean/dump out the coffee grounds and the glass beaker immediately slipped out. If I hadn't caught it it would have fallen and likely broken. This is especially strange because the bottom of the plastic holder has a warning that states: "CAUTION: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REMOVE GLASS FROM PLASTIC" .....well I didn't have to attempt. It just falls out on its own.
