Product Description
The PUR 11 Cup Water Filter Pitcher offers refreshing water quickly and easily. Each PUR water filter is certified to reduce mercury and certain industrial pollutants, as well as reducing chlorine (taste and odor) and more.ƚ The filter lasts up to 2 months and gives you 40 gallons (or 640 8oz cups) of great-tasting water. PUR’s superior filter technology uses activated carbon and ion exchange media and is certified to reduce 2x more contaminants than Brita’s leading water pitcher filter.*ƚ The PUR filtered water pitcher has a space-saving design that fits easily in the fridge, while the comfort-grip handle and easy-fill lid make it easy to use. A water filtration system is important because tap water may look clean but can contain potentially harmful contaminants from pipes. Compatible water filter replacements are not certified to offer the same water quality – genuine PUR Filters are the only filters certified for use in PUR systems. Using a PUR water filter system can save up to $1,000 per year on average compared with the cost of bottled water** and help keep plastic bottle waste out of landfills. Each replacement water filter provides 40 gallons of filtered water or up to 2 months of typical use. PUR has been developing innovative technologies for superior water filtration for over 30 years. We believe life deserves PUR water.

6 month update:
So I have been using this filter about 6 months now. It is still going strong as expected. Had to change filters every month and a half due to my higher usage. The filter slows down fast after a couple of weeks, but you just shake it out and it works faster again. I did a TDS test on the tap water and the water from the filter and it went from 57 to 33 where I live so it does seem to work well. After discovering my TDS was so low in the tap water, I am no longer going to use this. I live near mountains so the water is pretty fresh here already. I still recommend this product.
[Update 2/14/19] After using this for half a year now, I have had zero problems with it. The people that broke their handle made the mistake that I mentioned above and that's the only way I could think of that would have it break so easily. After 6 months of use and not being naive in thinking that a small plastic handle could withstand the weight of an 11 cup pitcher full of water, it's still as perfect as when I purchased it. Fill it up as much as you want, just use two hands to pour if it's really heavy and keep most of the weight on the hand supporting it from the BOTTOM. If you're pouring water with one hand strictly from the handle or you're only supporting it from the top while pouring, then it's your fault that it broke to be honest. A few times, it can withstand, but if you're doing that every day then of course it's going to snap eventually.
The set up was easy and fast, and I have been using nothing but the pitcher for a month now. I think the flavor and ergonomics are great, and the lid is fine as long as you don't fill it all the way up: you may risk spilling water from the hinge.
The only issue I have like many is that my LED light has never lit up, but I know that the filters last around 4-6 weeks. I know when I started using it, so it isn’t that big of a deal to me.
If you want to help the environment by using less bottles, then I recommend this product. It does what it says it does. The pitcher takes about 6 minutes to fill (from my own experience).
Top reviews from other countries
I had a no-name jug and a Brita. The Brita lid had snapped off at the hinge and for that reason, and the fact that their cartridges are now hard to recycle, I decided not to continue with that company's products. I ordered a Pür and a blue lead-filter pack after reading online.
The Pür jug has two features I appreciate over the Brita. First, the lid on the fill compartment is not too heavy for its hinge. I expect the Pür fill lid to work properly over the life of the jug. Second, the fill compartment has an overflow outlet at the back (over the handle). If you overfill, you may get your hand wet but if you try pouring too soon, before a substantial quantity of water has gone through the filter, unfiltered water is not going to pour out into your glass.
The blue lead-filtering cartridges are the only ones I have used with the Pür. Filtering a full jug takes at least half an hour, although the process was faster when the filter was new. The very large size of the jug means I can work around the long filtering time, and the Pür-filtered water tastes exceptionally lively and clean. The maker suggests removing the cartridge and shaking it if filtering gets too slow. I haven't had to try this yet.
