About this item
- 12” SPORT BIKE - The Sport is our best all-around model. It features mini rubber grips, a padded seat, a safety pad, the performance footrest, and an 11” starting seat height, so your toddler can easily straddle the bike at a young age.
- EASY TO ADJUST - As your child grows, you can adjust the seat & handlebar heights—no tools required. The Sport has a seat height range from 11-19” to fit a huge range of inseam lengths (12-20”). Plus, the foam tires will never go flat!
- WHAT IS A BALANCE BIKE? - A balance bike introduces your child to the feeling of being on a bike, building up their confidence by encouraging striding and allowing them to practice bike-handling skills.
- WHY DO I NEED IT? - Balance bikes are proven time and again to teach boys & girls to ride faster than training wheels. Your child will learn balance & steering, which makes transitioning to a bicycle with pedals much easier (when the time comes).
- JOIN THE STRIDER FAMILY - Meet the bike that set the world on fire and revolutionized the way kids learn to ride. Children as young as one are experiencing the thrill of riding without training wheels—before they're out of diapers.

About 4 months ago he started riding it on trails both on and off road. He can now fly around the house, down the driveway, up and down hills, on pretty much any terrain, and he can’t get enough. We honestly have to hide his bike at times because we just can’t take it everywhere. Once he figured out the balancing he started gliding small distances and now he can balance with both feet up for easily 25 feet or more with the right speed. Great construction, awesome design, and several accessories available, one of which we will be adding very soon (the ski attachments). I have recorded several GoPro videos of him out riding and enjoying this bike, so much fun!!! Definitely worth the price!
I do have one suggestion for Strider, in case they read this. The adjustable seat and handle bars are very easy to use, we love this; though some type of height/level marking along the rod would make it even better! As we have adjusted over time for our growing and learning kiddo, it can be difficult to go back to a setting you previously had, or when others happen to adjust the seat, being able to easily adjust back to the appropriate height would be much easier with some type of marking system. I have used electrical tape and this works in a pinch. Thanks!
By the way, be prepared to engage in conversation with others about this bike when you take your kiddo out riding, this seriously happens constantly! You’ll be sure to see you kid quickly flying by older kiddos with training wheels on a traditional bike! Eventually we will transition to pedals, but this definitely seems to be the right approach. Enjoy!!! Thank you Strider!!! Please bring some events to Austin Texas and the surrounding areas!!!
The blue color is beautiful!! It’s the perfect shade of royal blue and matches his Joovy toddler helmet perfectly.
My only issue with it was during assembly. I’m a single mama, but I did it myself! I had a hard time getting the handlebars to lock in place with the safety lock; no matter how I installed it through the rod, it slid up and down!!! Nowhere in the instructions or in the “how to assemble” video on the Strider website did it mention tightening the screws on the locking portion! Once I did that, it stayed in place. It’s a good idea to make sure the front wheel is in line with the rest of the bike before tightening it!! I did this by holding the frame and wheel between my legs.
They provide little tools to tighten the screws with, so use those instead of doing it bare-handed!!
It’s going to be a big transition from his tiny infant bike, but I know it’ll get tons of use this summer!! It’s lightweight, fairly easy to assemble, and very durable and sturdy.
If I could add one thing to it, it would be a kickstand!!!! We have to stand it against the wall in the garage or it falls right over. Why isn’t there a kickstand?!!! Perhaps a safety measure?
I TOTALLY recommend this. It should grow with him for many years to come.
Happy Ridin’! Hope this helps! 💙

The age range suitability is a standout feature of the Strider 12” Sport Bike. It is designed for kids from 18 months to 5 years, making it a versatile investment that grows with my child's development.
One significant advantage of this balance bike is the inclusion of safety features. The safety pad, padded seat, and mini grips ensure that my child enjoys a comfortable and secure ride every time.
The flat-free tires are another highlight of the Strider 12” Sport Bike. They offer peace of mind, eliminating the worry of punctures and ensuring smooth rides on various terrains.
In conclusion, the Strider 12” Sport Bike is more than just a balance bike; it's the ultimate companion for fostering my child's riding confidence and outdoor exploration.
