DANGEROUS -- See Pictures -- punctured, shorted cables -- DANGEROUS
DANGEROUS!!! This product has two "shorts" in it and is dangerous to anyone attempting to jump start a vehicle (see pics, below). Amazon should probably discontinue this product / supplier (they are in/from China, so they will probably pop up under a different name). Check out my photos, I tested the rivet on the handle for continuity with the charger clamps and it's "LIVE" on TWO of the four clamps. I'm glad I took the time to look and then to test.DO NOT BUY!!!This is less critical, but certainly misleading: The front of packaging is covered with U.S.A. and an "American (sic) Favorite Tools", but this is Made in China. I'm skeptical of the 4 gauge it claims to be (very thin feeling, flexible, pliable), but can't check it without cutting open the cable/wire. This is an OxGord jumper cable sold by Won Lane.OxGord Jumper Cable 4 Gauge x 12Ft - Commercial Grade 500 AMP Non Tangle Battery Booster Starter with Carry CaseSure would be nice if Amazon had and independent lab to test and verify products like this. I'm open for starting that operation if Amazon will fund it or allow certification links! ': ]

I ordered these jumper cables because you never know when you will need a jump. In cold weather, batteries can easily become drained and not start the vehicle. When away from home, this can be a major irritation. In really bad weather, it can even be dangerous. There are certain things you should look for in jumper cables: length (long enough to easily reach between the two vehicles), size/gauge (able to carry enough amps from the one vehicle to the one with the dead battery), tangle free (this is not just a matter of convenience, but, also, about not allowing the clamps to touch together, causing sparks and a possible explosion of the battery), good clamps (to easily attach to the batteries and stay attached - another safety issue), price (obvious reasons), and sturdy (built to last). These cables are 5-star in all of these respects. Furthermore, they arrived quickly and even have their own carrying bag. I have bought other battery jumper cables before, and these are easily the best overall.

I am very happy with these jumper cables. I purchased two sets, one for my wife's car and one for my truck. Although we rarely tend to use jumper cables, there is absolutely nothing more irritating or embarrassing then pulling out $5 dollar wolly mart jumper cables that are only 5 feet long and get super hot when used. Especially when those cheap cables keep trying to coil up back into a circle when being used! Ahhh well you will not have any of those problems with these cables. They are plenty long , allowing you to approach the vehicle from drivers side or off side. The clamps are well made and firmly attach to the battery posts. No heat from the wires overheating, and to top it off they come in a little storage bag to keep them clean and untangled in your vehicle's storage area.

I needed a set of jumper cables to keep in my trunk for those emergency situations. I did a lot of research and decided I wanted a 25ft set to span front to back jumps where a car can pull behind another car for a jump. I was hesitant getting 4 gauge copper clad aluminum cables, but after confirmation online, these are more than sufficient for most cars. I'm not planning to jump a semi or diesel, so these will be fine. The larger gauge (relative to 1 gauge or 2 gauge I looked at) means the cables are very flexible and meant I was able to store them in my spare tire well of my 2016 Toyota Avalon. The clamps appear to be strong and the copper teeth are connected well. I have no doubts about these cables.

So far, these jumper cables seem to be of high quality and an excellent value. I have only used them once, to start a John Deere combine after its winter hibernation, but they did a great job on a cold Diesel engine which is factory equipped with two batteries and requires plenty of power to start. The 25' length was very handy to reach the batteries. I have another 2 Gauge x 20' set for which I paid over $100, and I believe these, although of smaller gauge and lighter weight, perform very nearly as well, for a fraction of the cost. The carry is a nice extra feature. I liked these enough to buy a second set, and will probably buy more.

The cable and clamps are decent. The plastic bag is a real drawback and you can hardly use it again once you take the cable out for the first time. It is too tight, and the cable goes in there only if you wrap it the exact same way it was. Other than the bag, the cable, its length, its quality and of course price are very good.

This is a great jumper cable set. The last set I had was Champion brand and lasted me for about 15 years. This is what I bought to replace that set. It seems to be holding up well in the hot/cold cycles of the season. It also comes in a nice carry case. I've used them 2 times already to help other people out and I've had no issues with length or grip.

I picked the 4 gauge, 25 feet. I wouldn't get any other length or gauge, this seems to be the perfect size/rating.

I bought the 4 gauge 25' variant because I needed a cord and clamps for a 12v electric chainsaw I built a while back. Easy to work with and they easily pass enough current to cut down small-ish trees. Good clamps, good insulation. The wire is copper clad aluminum (not as good as straight copper) but I knew that when I bought them, and the copper plating is good enough to solder terminal lugs to. I put the set of clamps I took off of these on a small winch and left them outside over the winter and they held up pretty well out there.

I purchased these to throw in my truck. I live in Northern Alberta, Canada. Far North. It gets -40 here for weeks on end in the winter. There's always someone who needs a boost, including myself. Though I bought these in march, I have still had to use them twice. Once to charge a buddy's vehicle that was in storage (battery was toast, but he was able to get his vehicle home) and once to boost a neighbor.

You should have no trouble pulling in behind someone and being able to boost them, which is good for highway assists. Beats risking going the opposite direction on a highway or main road.

The clamps are rugged and have a strong hold. They are fairly bulky, so compact engines such as my wifes 2004 trail blazer, make it difficult to boost or to be boosted. Larger engine compartments such as my dodge ram, have a bit more room and can be clamped easily.

Everyone should have a set for their vehicles. It's better to be looking at them than for them

5.0 out of 5 stars I have yet to use the product - based on ...
Reviewed in Canada on January 9, 2017
I have yet to use the product - based on my visual observations, I feel it will be trouble free.
Having purchased many jumper cables throughout my life, I think I have a bit of a handle on what will work, and what will not and I am impressed with the design.

The product was purchased to be able to assist stranded motorists without reversing my vehicle into oncoming traffic. I think I will be able to hook up to the truck battery and run the newly purchased jumper cable underneath - over the top - of the truck to hook up to the vehicle behind me.

Recently there was a situation where a woman had been stranded on a bridge for 45 minutes with a disabled vehicle. As I approached the vehicle, the local radio station that was tracking the problem, said a tow truck had been dispatched to help her out so I drove by the motorist, but I wish I had been able to help.

I now carry extra long jumpers and a can of gas in case I can help out in a similar situation. I expect the product to work well, based on my observations on the as delivered jumper cables.
