Why Alaska Bear? Our pillowcase is made of 100% organic,hypoallergenic and breathable mulberry silk fibers. A great bed head saver and healthy skin helper.	Top-quality fabric 100% pure mulberry silk, natural protein fiber. Incredibly soft, procte skin and hair from friction damage. Breathable yet unsulating fabric, greater for all seasons.	Hidden zipper for style, comfort and better fit. No pillows slide out overnight.

Washing and Care Instructions:

1. For best results, hand wash silk pillowcases in cold water, using mild neutral liquid detergent. Detergents formulated specifically for silk will keep the silky-softness of the fabric.

2. Do not soak dark-colored silk for more than five minutes. Wash separately and do not mix with other harsher fabric as it will break down the more delicate silk fibers.

3. Avoid tumble-drying. The heat will change silk dramatically and cause the loss of softness/sheen.

4. Wrinkles in silk should disappear with time, and so ironing is not recommended. If you must, be sure to use a low setting without steam and iron on the reverse side of damp silk, which may bring some of the sheen back to the charmeuse front side.

5. Always take off your make-up and mascara before you go to bed. Not only would your skin benefit by being able to breath, rest and recover, but the white pillowcase would not stain. (NEVER use bleach products, it turns the silk yellow!)

I've used a silk Alaska Bear eye mask for sleeping for years and haven't found another brand that I love as much. Why? Because I can throw it in the washing machine with my regular laundry once a week and it always comes out looking like new (I always wash on warm, dry on delicate). This pillowcase is exactly the same! I received the pillowcase, threw it in the washer with my whites, washed on normal/warm with cold rinse (regular old Persil or Tide detergent and some Downy softener), dried it on delicate, and it came out just as nice as my eye masks. So soft and buttery silky smooth...it's absolutely lovely. I ordered the standard size with a zipper closure and it fits snugly and securely over my foam contoured pillow. The construction and quality is excellent.

It's a good product and is not as slippery as satin. You can pay around $10 for a satin pillowcase that will work well for your skin and hair, but the comfort from the silk of course is way better for me.
