    Poor leg to feet connection

    Poor leg to feet connection
The materials are sturdy enough. The problem is the leg to feet connection. I have two other stands of different brands with similar designs but with welded leg/feet connections. The connection for this stand has a pin/bolt connection where the bolt goes through the foot piece and up into the pin and holds the foot piece to the bottom of the leg. This resulted in a much more flexible connection than a weld. At max height where I need it, this stand will flex side-to-side under moderate lateral pressure, and it flexes much more easily then my stands with welded connections. I am concerned it could sway under load and I could lose the load. I am returning it.Update: I may have been too hard on the product. I have looked at alternatives at Home Depot and Harbor Freight and they appear to have a very similar pin design (same factory?) so this may now be industry standard. The manufacturer may have gotten away from the welded design because of shipping and fabrication costs (My current stands are probably 15 years old). A welded connection would still be preferred.

I got two of these today and assembled them in about 10 minutes total (7 for the first and 3 for the second). Instructions are simple pictures. Easy to follow.

    Pro:
Three positions - uniroller, drum roller or platform
    Smooth, ball-bearing rollers
    Long extension 29" - 48"
Powder-coated steel legs & roller case
    Hefty, comfortable extension lock handle
    Rubberized plastic feet (soft, grippy)
Sits perfectly level on my floor

    Cons:
No locking mechanism for the folding leg.
Narrow feet (17" total. Only 8.5" on either side)

For the price, these are awesome! 150 lb rating is
conservative. Held my weight with no problem (225 lbs). No lock allows the one leg to swing closed when you pick it up. Not a big deal but you'll have to make sure it is fully opened every time you move it. The narrow footprint means they will knock over fairly easily so be careful applying too much lateral force, especially when fully extended. These are really minor issues for a $35 roller stand. Overall, I am very pleased. Highly recommended.

1.0 out of 5 stars Broken.
Reviewed in the United States on April 2, 2021
On a very fundamental level, the stand is adequate. However, it’s not the most stable of supports. More importantly, the handle that you use to raise or lower the support broke. There’s a little nut that had been welded to the upright that broke off. This renders the entire stand useless. To wait to return it.
