    Initial thoughts -- still testing.

    Out of the box this harness looks great. I put it on the dog and spent a few minutes adjusting until it looked just right. However, with the camera mounted, the harness lists to one side. I have adjusted it numerous times and this continues. I have noticed that the straps loosen very quickly so adjusting the snugness is ineffective because it will not maintain.

    I also put it on my dog to just wear around the house without the camera to see how it held up. He scratched and unhooked the belly strap. There is nothing to keep the straps in place, they just hook on. So if he's running around outdoors and brushes against things, he could easily unhook a strap that way as well.

    My fear is that, off leash, he could lose this harness. Plus, I can't get video that is not crooked because the camera / harness will list to one side. I plan to test this some more and see if I cannot overcome this but it might require modification to the harness and I don't see the point in paying this much for something that I have to modify to make it work. I might as well make my own harness mount if that is the case.

    If I overcome these drawbacks, I'll update this review.

    17 October 14 update

    After multiple hikes I found that the harness requires constant readjustment because there is no way to lock the straps at the point you adjust them to. Straps loosen within minutes and even faster when wet. It worked a little better on my 46 pound dog than on my 66 pound dog (holding adjustment slightly longer). I really cannot understand this poor design with no way to properly adjust the straps so that they stay in place. The straps have no buckles, they hook onto a loop in the strap. The dog can undo these when running around by brushing against a tree, brush, etc. This has happened multiple times.

    I am considering removing the straps and attaching the platform to something else.

    I hate you. I hate you. I hate you. I was blissfully ambivalent about your products until I was cursed with this harness. In the past, my kids and I would play for hours with your camera. One of our favorite games was shooting video of me diving into the pool (I'm a really good swimmer, though I have yet to learn anything other than the doggy paddle). My kids and I would play for hours with your camera, and then relive the fun watching our videos.
    But then this cursed harness came into our lives. I would like to go on record as saying that I do not like harnesses of any kind. If God wanted me to carry things, He would have created me as a camel, or donkey, or some other lower life form other than the glorious creature that I am. Now, when I first tried on this harness, it wasn't that uncomfortable (for a harness), but then my kids, with the help of their evil Uncle who purchased this torture device, attached the camera to me. Yes, to ME! What am I, some living, breathing tripod? NO! If I had opposable thumbs, I would have freed myself from this torture device and thrown it away.
    Despite the obvious enjoyment my kids got from seeing me wearing the camera, I did not appreciate it one bit. I have spent years developing a precise awareness of how tall I am. With your camera sitting astride me like some tiny, square cowboy, much of my world became suddenly inaccessible. I tried to walk under the coffee table, as I've done thousands of time, only to be stopped dead in my tracks. My kids and Evil Uncle found this hilarious and were laughing their heads off at me. Well, I don't need to take such disrespect, so I went to run and hide under the dining room table. That didn't work out very well. After fighting gallantly with the chairs, I decided to give up and just go outside so I could escape the mocking laughter and get some solace. But, then - the doggy door! MY door! I tried repeatedly to go through it, as I've done countless times, but never succeeded in getting anything more than my head outside.
    Finally, Evil Uncle removed the camera, but only to mount it to the front of my chest. At least I could get out of the house now.
    I did finally get a bit accustomed to wearing the camera, but I still don't appreciate being used in this way.
    They finally took this thing off of me. I thought they had decided I had been humiliated enough. Wrong! They hooked the camera up to the TV and replayed every excruciating moment of my humiliation. And if that wasn't bad enough, when they were done watching me run into every low item in the house, they called the entire family in and watched it again. With everyone laughing at me.
    Clearly, my kids think this harness is a great idea. Me? Not so much. Do you have any idea how many times kids can watch the same video over and over and over again when they find it funny? Does this torture have no end?

    As much as I would like to add some height to the back, I can't but the front is sufficient to capture the moments. Placing the camera on the back cannot capture much if your dog's head is going to be blocking the lens all the time. Hahahahaha!
