Product Description

Primary Arms Classic Series Gen II Removable Microdot Red Dot Sight

Product Overview - MD-RBGII (810011)

The Classic Series proves that entry-level optics don’t have to be poor quality optics. Unlike some other brands, we don’t use the word “value” as a euphemism for “junk”. CLx scopes are perfect for the budget conscious and the new shooter. We take the time to 100% inspect every product in our facility here in Houston to ensure you are receiving the best quality product as our other three tiers.

This Primary Arms Microdot sight is our second-generation model that are affordable while retaining excellent quality and durability. We have included a MIL-STD-1913 picatinny rail mount with this red dot sight, so you can attach it to your rifle right out of the box in a matter of seconds and head to the range to get it sighted in. Alternatively, the mount is removable and features mounting options for other standard microdot riser mounts, so you can customize the height and co-witness with your iron sights. Adjusting the zero of the dot is made easy with the ½ MOA audible click adjustments that are protected by aluminum caps. Also included with this optic is a bikini lens cover to protect the glass when not in use. If you are in the market for a red dot sight for hunting, target shooting, or competition, you can’t go wrong with the Primary Arms Microdot.

This micro red dot sight features 1,000 hours of battery life on a single CR2032 battery with 11 different illumination settings that can be quickly cycled through for use at night or on a bright day. This red dot sight is even compatible with night vision equipment to further extend its range of uses. The 2 MOA red dot is extremely crisp and allows you to take quickly aimed shots at short range while still giving you the ability to make effective shots at medium ranges. The glass that the red dot is projected on is fully multi-coated to reduce reflection and provide a clear sight picture. The glass and electronic internals are covered by a durable, black hardcoat anodized, 6061 aluminum housing with O-rings providing protection from water and fog.

I have an "original" Bushnell TRS25, and originally ordered another one to put on my AR pistol. However, it appears Bushnell has changed the manufacturing process, and the new one was junk. I immediately returned it and ordered this red dot to replace it. I have not shot the firearm yet, but will update this review after tomorrow when k am able to get out into the hills. I'll start out by listing my musings on this product in no particular order, with many comparisons Bering made with the TRS25 (main competitor in my eyes) along the way.1) I made sure to order the item from Primary Arms as another reviewer stated that you may get a slightly different version of the dot of you don't. They shipped the product fast, and it came nicely packaged.2) First impressions were good. Retail packaging is attractive, and the red dot is packaged securely inside. Bikini covers are more solid feeling, albeit very similar, to what came with the Bushnell. The site does have two minor nicks inside the housing area where he front lens is, but nothing extreme.3) the power knob has nice, well-defined, clicks, and goes from 1-11 withy the first 3 settings being for night vision. The knob must be rotated from 0 (off) up through the numbers to 11. This is in contrast to the TRS25 which can be rotated back from off to 11 with one click. There are advantages and disadvantages to each, but either way is fine with me.4) Where the power knob is situated makes it more attractive than the TRS25, but the zero adjustment lever does get a little in the way of using it. So you trade a lower (and more attractive) profile for a little inconvenience in power adjustment.5) the removable mount makes the dot sit slightly higher than the TRS25 with its fixed mount. You cannot use the 1" UTG riser for a 1/3 cowitness with an A2 gas block and front sight. The sight is simply too high. You do, however, get a perfectly acceptable cowitness on a .8" riser with MBUS sights. I had originally planes to put this sight on my rifle AR with the TRS25 on my pistol AR (2MOA advertised with PA sight vs 3MOA with Bushnell), but for the sake of not having to order a $30 riser from PA to give me the cowitness I want, I will live.6) this red dot feels as rugged as my TRS25, but also looks much cleaner. The emitter has a lower profile, and still sits at the convenient 4:30 position. The "new" TRS25 also has the same low profile emitter, but it sits at 6:00 o'clock, and you lose the dot in the top 1/3 of the glass (which is BS).I am excited to get to the range, and will update this review when I get a chance.
