I purchased this tent, along with a Kelty Salida 2, for a backpacking trip down Havasupai (Grand Canyon). Since then, I have also taken the tent to Zion Narrows, Rim to Rim, and some other shorter backpacking trips. The tent has held up flawlessly, and has truly exceeded my expectations for a backpacking tent under $200. Allow me to list some pros and cons:
Pros:
- Lightweight and cost efficient. The weight is comparable to brands such as Big Agnes, but 1/2 the cost. Ditch the bag and the rainfly (at your own risk) if you need it lighter.
- Good ventilation, while still retaining warmth. We do not experience the morning moisture on the inside of the tent.
- SUPER easy setup, can stand alone without stakes. With only 2 poles, I can easily set up the tent myself in under 5 minutes. The standalone design is nice too. The only easier tent I've ever set up was the pop-up (and that's cheating).
- Quality material - I primarily camp/hike in the AZ desert, and have not had any problems with the material ripping on our cacti and other harsh terrain.
- Has a rain-fly. While this is pretty much standard in all tents, some folks asked this question, so I thought I would note it.
- Spacious - while it is rated for 4 (and 4 could fit, shoulder to shoulder) I would say that this fits 2-3 comfortably WITH gear inside. Also there is a small space in the front (under the rainfly when set up) that also allows for gear storage.
Cons:
- Tent stakes are sub-par. I would recommend buying custom lightweight stakes, as the ones included in this package bend far too easily in soils that are not soft.
- Footprint is an additional purchase - while not mandatory I DO like having a footprint, which is an extra $30.
- Front of rainfly requires tension stake. Not a HUGE problem, but does cause issues if camping in rocky soil due to very malleable tent stakes.
- Only a 3-season tent. While 4-season tents are hard to come by, this tent does get very cold during winter camping.
Take my following considerations in mind when purchasing this, but honestly I feel it is one of the best products that I own for camping. For one step up in quality, you're looking at about $200-300 dollar price increase. As long as you aren't camping in freezing conditions, this tent will be everything that you need!
I’m finally writing this review because I am so happy and impressed with its performance over the years in wet and dry conditions. If you’re setting up in rain, I place the footprint, then the rain fly flat, then the tent underneath the fly, then put up the poles under the fly. It recently outdid itself in unexpected snow conditions (20F-30F), especially because I was poorly prepared and I never purchased this tent with the intention to camp in snow. I did not have enough guy lines to properly taunt the tent and made do with the default 4 on hand. It handled the snow beautifully, and the condensation was better than expected with two people inside (one picky hot, one cold sleeper). It had some droplets against my mat and tiny wet spots on my blanket (where it was not staked), but it was manageable considering I didn’t taunt all the points. We were still toasty with “basic” gear aside from my higher end 4 season sleeping mat.
Overall, I think this tent is a great option for those that are just beginning their journey, occasional campers, general use, or want a backup tent without breaking the bank for most climates. I plan on upgrading my 2 person tent to something even lighter because I’ve outgrown it, but it still resides in my car as backup gear and holds a special place in my heart. I can not recommend this tent enough! Thanks Kelty!

Withholding fifth star because it always felt like the top cover didn't quite fit - perhaps it's meant to be that way, but it always looked a little awkward.
The unconventional pegs are also a bit of a quirk - they are robust and light, but can still be bent, and need to be pushed right into the ground to hold a peg loop down.
