I just recently received this, so I have not used it hardly at all. The first few days I spent getting the bar and chain thoroughly oiled by letting them soak in an oil bath for 24 hours, particularly the chain.
I’ve owned two electric chain saws previous to this; the first was in ME where every Fall I would cut 3 cords of hardwood to stove length. Unfortunately that was quite a while ago and I cannot remember the brand; I would shop for that if I could because that was a rugged little saw.
The second was 3 years ago and came with an extension pole which I needed at the time, based on the price paid and the hard service I asked of it, it was ok but the chain tensioner broke pretty quickly allowing the chain to become damaged twice. This saw was only used twice a year to trim 2-4 inch tree branches and shrubs. Two damaged chains was enough (and my concern over chains coming off the bar).
Thus the the purchase of this saw at this price point and the features that affected my choice:
1-the chain tension system, it is a rugged, positive design that will hold up because it uses two separate adjuster controls. The webpage description is typically vague (a MAJOR fault with products listed on Amazon). The rear control is a worm gear that drives the bar in & out providing very good, fine adjustment of the chain. The front control is a typical bolt that clamps the bar in place when tightened down. The whole systems looks rugged compared to my previous saw,
2-the motor is mounted on the side of the chain saw body. This design allows for a direct drive of the chain gear by the output shaft of the motor. My previous saw had the motor mounted inside the body which required a right-angle gear drive; a much weaker design and potential failure point. I would pass by any saws that have some sort of all-in-one chain tensioner, it is a poor design.
The lubrication also works well, too soon to tell if there will be leakage issues, but I believe these are related to storage position of the saw, or a saw that slipped by quality control (it happens).
My one issue is the handle bar, it is a little too close to the hand guard and reduces the ease of use slightly, especially if you are wearing heavy gloves, but not a major issue.
So I provide 4 stars (4.5 if I could) for that. After some experience with the saw I expect I would give it 5 and highly recommend it. Having said that, we all must keep in mind you usually get what you pay for, but if you recognize that fact and avoid asking a tool to do more than it is designed for (taking the often bold claims by the many foreign vendors here with a large dose of salt), you can get good service from inexpensive tools. And there certainly is no reason to buy a race car just to go to the store for a loaf of bread. 😇

To deal with the aftermath of the February 2023 ice storm in Texas, I needed to replace my old Remington 14" Limb and Trim 120v chainsaw. Lots of oak and cedar limbs and tree trunks to clear on my 1 acre lot :( The reviews on the Greenworks Model 2022 looked encouraging so I purchased one. The first one I ordered arrived with the box taped together haphazardly so it was apparent someone had received this one before me. I didn't even open the box since I assumed someone had decided to test drive it and then return it. (Love Amazon's return policy!) Ordered another which arrived in new condition a couple of days later. This one has done everything I've thrown at it over the past 3 days. I saw complaints about oil leaks but 1) haven't seen any evidence yet and 2) even if it did, that wouldn't be surprising for a self-lubricating saw. (I always store my saws on a plastic lid in case there are any leaks.) Also saw some concerns with the unit "throwing" its blade. I did have this happen a couple of times but by increasing the chain tension and (probably more importantly) staring to rev the chain before contacting the wood I haven't had any additional occurrences.

What I like:
1. A really good (low) price for such a powerful chainsaw.
2. The chain-tightening mechanism is well-designed and quick. No disassembly required.
3. The chain oiling system works well.

What I don't like:
- Nothing so far

Be aware that the Greenworks 14" chain (Model 2906802) found on Amazon does not fit this saw. It has the correct number of drive links (52) and link pitch (3/8"), but the gauge (0.043") is not what is required for this chainsaw which requires a 0.050" gauge. The Greenworks site shows that the Model 2904802 chain is required for this saw but that chain is not an option on Amazon. However, there are may replacement chains with the 52 drive links, 3/8" pitch, and 0.050" gauge available. I ordered one by UDC but have yet to give it a try since the original Greenworks chain is still cutting well.

Bottom line: This saw has paid for itself in the 3 days I have used it. In fact, it probably paid for itself the first day!

After the Ottawa ice storm a few weeks ago, my tree was damaged with half dozen broken branches. Only had a hand saw so I decided to pull the trigger.

No regrets with this saw. 14" bar and light enough I can carry up and down the ladder. I can even run this with one hand if need be. It is so practical. Add some oil and go. Keep the chain tightened easily with the knob and it cuts like a hot knife through butter. Even tackles the 6" diam trunks with ease.

I was also able to plow through the stack of branches and cut them up some more before putting them out for garbage day. When job's done, drain the remaining oil so it is empty and remove chain cover to cleanup. Easy peazy.

Best saw I ever owned!
