A great wifi extender to use with a top of the ...
A great wifi extender to use with a top of the line router!I normally do not do reviews with the exception of when the product is a total disaster or amazing. This case is the latter. For the record I have the Netgear Nighthawk router (R7000) AC1900 and have been using it for about 2 years and it has not let up yet. Unfortunately my house is just big enough that the range did not reach the other half of the house. I had to pay an additional 50 bucks a month for a second modem in the house which really hurt the wallet. Spending just under 150 bucks for the extender (3 months of modem service) will pay for itself.Setup: Setup took about 10 minutes, put the extender in a centralized area, plugged into an outlet and went to a computer to run the setup through netgear's website. Step by step instructions were very easy.Range: It definitely covers the full left side of the house without any hiccups and does cause cause any wifi saturation at all.Speed: So I pay my Service provider for 75mbps download and 35mbps upload and get perfect speeds on a regular basis when connected to router on 2/5ghz. On the range extender it does take a hit on speed. I got 40/40 respectively (speed test on router usually gets me 86/40) which isn't bad and I don't mind that at all. This is the best range extender out there and it's a must buy for the best range, don't cheap out on this, especially if you have a high end router!
