Product Description

This Professional Series Bamix model is handbuilt in Switzerland to last. Each unit is tested many times during production to ensure precise performance. With 2 speeds and 3 stainless steel blades that are easy to change, this hand blender is versatile enough to do countless kitchen tasks. The aerating blade is set at a slight angle for optimum performance to whip or beat liquids, even turning skim milk into a whipped topping. The blending blade mixes, purees and emulsifies thick or creamy mixtures so you can make homemade mayonnaise in seconds. The chopping blade dices raw and cooked fruits and vegetables; makes fruit ice creams, sorbets and smoothies; crushes ice and purees soups and sauces right in the pan on the stove. Optional grinder, powder disk and food processor attachments are available. The precision balanced AC motor reduces vibration to ensure quiet operation and give optimum power at all times. This also makes the 200 watt Bamix extremely energy efficient with unsurpassed power while using less energy. This model is NSF commercial certified. The body housing made of PA6 safety rated nylon is odor resistant, grease repellent and is sealed keeping the motor free from exposure to moisture so the 7.4 inch shaft can be totally immersed even in boiling liquids. The shaft is made of chromated brass which makes it strong, durable and heat resistant. The open mixing head design creates rotating currents to draw food in and down to the blades for more thorough processing. This lets you mix faster and more efficiently. You can use the bamix in pans, pots, high containers, tall glasses and beakers. Easy to clean up by rinsing under running water.

I read a lot of reviews before I chose what kind of Bamix to purchase. I know several people who have a Bamix, and have loved it. So for me it was not a question of what brand. However, I want to comment on a couple negative reviews. Someone wrote that they wish the Bamix had a bigger bell like the Brevelle does -- WRONG! The bell just fits through a mayonaise jar with a regular-sized lid, which is very important if you use your Bamix to make mayo in a quart jar, which I do. A larger size bell and you would not ever be able to use it in a regular quart jar. The company had this one pegged exatly!Another review blog really put down the Bamix because the attachments aren't all they are advertised for -- I agree. Don't buy the attachments. Just use the Bamix for what it is excellent at doing and you will be very pleased with the quality of this machine!Also, I am very pleased that I chose to get a Pro 2. The shaft reaches within a 1/4" from the bottom of a quart mayonaise jar -- perfect fit!!

I did the product testing for you. I tried three other less expensive stick (or immersion) blenders. And by the time I'd managed to make those frozen pieces of fruit and the vast quantities of liquid into something even remotely like a smoothie, I'd practically stopped wanting anything at all to eat or drink. EVER.

BAMIX is EXACTLY what you expect it to be: a QUICK, CLEAN, EASY way to make a smoothie. I bought the stainless steel cups and then I just add frozen fruit and juice to cover and blend. Voila! I have a deliciously cold, well blended smoothie in a blink of an eye! And cleanup? A breeze! I use a bottle brush to clean the active end, rinse and let air dry.

Now making a smoothie is almost as easy as just thinking about wanting one.

At first I was worried that this immersion blender was overkill in terms of RPMs and length and weight, but it turns out it's the same length of our cheaper Cuisinart. The three attachments that come with the kit are great as compared to the single non-removable blade on the Cuisinart my wife purchased several years ago ($39). My first batch of mayonnaise was perfect and much firmer and more fluffy; so simple it's a crime. I tried the whipping attachment for whipped cream and had little luck the first go around as I used a small glass bowl. Then, I used the small Bamix beaker for the whipped cream and, viola! Amazingly short time to whip. I also had a chance to use the multi-purpose blade to mix up sweet potatoes and orange sections and it did a significantly better job than the Cuisinart - no large undetected chunks! I can't wait to use this on other soups we make. I will say that the small attachments are eye candy for our 2-yr old and we lost the whisk attachment in less than a week!

The blender is good and powerful but I always have a problem while using it. Every time I plug it in and use the power in the outlet went off, I tried different 3 ones and I think this item is not safe to be used! The Amazon customer service assured me that this item is suitable for the USA market and they check every blender, and they suggested to return it. I contacted Bamix company later on and they sent me 3 links, where I can buy blenders for USA market. And on Amazon there is only ONE Official Representative - Zahalo. So, I am very disappointed with Amazon customer service lying that item is genuine and comes from the manufacturer! Such a shame!

I cant recommend this product because it is nearly impossible to remove the blade. Instructions are to protect your hand with a dish towel and them pull firmly. These is no catch or release to remove the blade, you just have to pull with all your syrength and try not to get a hernia. It is nearly impossible. Don't buy this, I regret the purchase.

Bought this to replace a Breville that died. So far I've just used the one blade for mixing.
I am mainly mixing homemade yogurts and soups. I have also mixed nut butters (have to use the top speed, then plunge it into the nut butter then pull it back up to let it get back to speed and repeat as you work your way deeper. I also tried frozen fruit and while it worked, I have a Blendtec for that.

Pros:
* much more quiet
* more powerful than my old one based on the speed of the vortex

Cons:
* can't remove the wand from the motor making cleaning more cumbersome
* momentary push buttons - when holding for extended periods can sometimes "stutter" as your finger gets tired or loosens a bit too far

I would recommend just based on how I use it. We really never used the Breville attachments except for the food processor, which I may look into for this unit.

I read a lot of reviews before I chose what kind of Bamix to purchase. I know several people who have a Bamix, and have loved it. So for me it was not a question of what brand. However, I want to comment on a couple negative reviews. Someone wrote that they wish the Bamix had a bigger bell like the Brevelle does -- WRONG! The bell just fits through a mayonaise jar with a regular-sized lid, which is very important if you use your Bamix to make mayo in a quart jar, which I do. A larger size bell and you would not ever be able to use it in a regular quart jar. The company had this one pegged exatly!
Another review blog really put down the Bamix because the attachments aren't all they are advertised for -- I agree. Don't buy the attachments. Just use the Bamix for what it is excellent at doing and you will be very pleased with the quality of this machine!
Also, I am very pleased that I chose to get a Pro 2. The shaft reaches within a 1/4" from the bottom of a quart mayonaise jar -- perfect fit!!
