The WiFi feature is nice to have and allows you to connect an iPad or iPhone to the camera. There is also an option that lets you remotely control all the camera functions through your iPad/iPhone including live time viewing of what the camera sees. This means you could put your camera on a tripod and control it from a tablet in another room. The only downside to WiFi is that there is no driver for a Windows PC, so if you want to offload your photos to your PC, you will have to use the cable or remove the camera memory card and install it into the PC memory card slot. I'm not sure why Olympus does not provide a PC WiFi interface as this would be very nice to have.
The GPS feature not only GeoTags your photos, but it also keeps track of your position. So if you use the camera on a hike, you can download your track via the WiFI port to your iPad/iPhone (again no PC app so you have to email your tracks to your PC as an attachment.)
The camera has a movie option. This works OK, but if you want to take lots of videos, you are better off using a handheld video camera.
One feature this camera has that is really amazing is the microscope option. When selected the camera lens changes to macro focus for taking very tight closeups. For example you can photograph something like a handkerchief and see the actual threads and fibers in the cloth.
I can recommend two accessories for this camera.
1) Olympus CLA-T01 Conversion Lens Adapter for Olympus TG-1 & TG-2 (Red) This thin adapter ring fits the TG-4 and contains a lens cap to cover the lens. It also makes the camera look more professional. Note the TG-4 lens is protected by a flat piece of glass, so this accessory is not so much for damage protection as it is to keep the glass free from fingerprints and dust when not in use.
2) <Guarmor> Premium HD Tempered Glass LCD Screen Protector Guard for Olympus Tough TG-3 TG-4 iHS Digital Camera. This tempered glass covers the view screen and protects it from scratching. Unfortunately the product does not have instructions on how to apply the screen protector but you can find various youtube videos on how to do it. It really makes the screen look great.
I find the UW (underwater) mode color corrects with brilliance down the about 5 meters, beyond you'll want to manually set your white balance which is super easy to do with the intuitive menu. You also have two White Balance pre-sets that you can save. Best results will always be manually setting your white balance on each shot to correlate to the ambient light illuminating your subject...but it's just too easy. My other cameras are fantastic, but I find the menu and ease of the camera's layout to be brilliant for one handed shooting.
The macro/microscope mode is insane! You really have the ability to capture tremendous detail.
The only downside in my opinion is the Olympus PT056 housing...I've had some issues with button o-rings and I'm currently on my second housing.
