The mop head with microfibers is very thick even on the bottom. It will not scratch anything. I bought a spare to use as a duster for my furniture.. I even use mine after mopping the floors and after rinsing to clean and dust everything.
On to the spinning. I've read reviews that says that it stays pretty wet - well, that's speculative. Here's my observations. Two spins, will leave enough moisture on the mop that you might have to come back with the mop spun dry to pick up the excess moisture on the floor (assuming you might want that)... Trust me, it will pick up everything, it's very thirsty mop head. 5 spins, barely any water left on floor... 10 spins, it's barely moist - with 9-10 spins, you can mop an area 5x5 feet and the floor will dry almost immediately. I mop and go, and love that it pick up so much dirt. No more mopping, and having to wait 30-45 minutes for the floors to dry. By the time you get to the other side of the room, the previously done area is almost dry.
The unit doesn't have an internal, dirty water spinner, it just has the top spinner to remove all the water from the mop.
The mop head rinses clean almost perfect afterwards.
This system is a simple, easy to use mop bucket system - Great product, and well built.
My dogs bring in lots o crud, and some of the pine bushes on the side of the house that the dogs sometimes drag in, will get snagged with the mop.. They were easy to pull off after rinsing. Everything else came right off - the mop head looked like I had just washed it, even after using it.
I took picture of my mop head after using it, and then after rinsing.
I also too pictures, of how I store mine, with the handle shrunk down for easy storing. The handle telescopes out easily, and locks easy as well.
Some reviewers were questioning if it will fit in a kitchen sink. I took some pics of how I filled mine up with 1/2 of the max water volume right in my sink. It worked great. It was easy to dump afterwards right back into the sink. You can also use your kitchen spray hose, or a gallon type pitcher. I tried it all, and will just insert into the sink at an angle like in the picture from now on. It works for me.
I think it will last a long time, and it will make my daily doggie slave duties a breeze - plus, help me keep my furniture dust free, and wiped down as well.
I also used the mop head with my Black Diamond wood and laminate floor cleaner, and wow, my floors came out so very clean - you wouldn't believe the amount of dirt that the mop head picked up using the Black Diamond floor cleaner (i love that cleaner) .... When done, I rinsed it the kitchen sink, and it came out perfectly white. Great product as well.
The first picture is after using the mop by itself with the black diamond wood / laminate floor cleaner, the second pic is after rinsing - almost perfect, like new.
The pics showing it in the sink, I only filled it up with hot water and about 2" of water. The pic with the mop in the bucket is with the same amount of water. I didn't fill it all the way up to the max fill water line. You can do as you choose.
The last picture shows how I store the mop/handle in it's retracted position... Not extended for normal use, and the bucket. You can store it away in it's fully extended form as well, I chose to store it away in it's retracted position.
It's easy to use and sturdy.
When, I used it with my normal floor cleaner, as a regular mop, rinse in the water, and spin... it picked up a huge amount of dirt, and when spun, it really gets rid of all that water... depending on how many spins you give it. It gives you lots of control for how much water you want on the floors.
I tried to cover most of the issues that I read in other reviews. Hope this helps.
