"...But it is made of a nicer fabric than my 2 favorites (Vive and Mars) so it has that going for it...." Read more
Customers like the performance of the orthopedic brace. They say it's very helpful for stretching out achilles tendons, and definitely stretches the plantar fasciitis. They also say it helps to stretch tight muscles in the arch of the foot, and it helps with foot pronation. Some customers say after just three nights, it has totally helped with their plantar faciitis, and they feel the muscles and connectors relax.
"...After wearing these for a few weeks, my plantar fasciitis has lessened enough that I started running again...." Read more

"...using this boot because I really do feel that it provided the stretch to the ligament exactly where I needed it." Read more
Customers appreciate the value of the orthopedic brace. They say it's well worth the price, economical, and has a comfortable lining. Some customers also mention that the boot is bulky but worth it.
"...This was very reasonably priced and seemed to have good reviews, so I bought it...." Read more

Customers are mixed about the comfort of the orthopedic brace. Some mention that it's superior of the two both in comfort and keeping their foot in. They say that their feet felt very good and better within a few days. However, others say that it is bulky and uncomfortable for a restless sleeper, and that their toes go numb while wearing it. They also mention that the foam provided is too hard and causes more pain in their foot.
"...foot (it's always worse in the morning), and miraculously, NO pain in my left foot. Seriously: it made my bad foot painless in one night...." Read more
"...of sleeping in the brace, it really seems to have helped the pain of my heel. I noticed an improvement the first morning...." Read more

"...n't instant relief, but after a few nights I noticed the pain had lessened quite a bit, and I actually felt more pain in the right foot when getting..." Read more
Customers are mixed about the straps of the orthopedic brace. Some mention that they can tighten the side straps for more pressure, and find the right adjustment is simple. However, others say that the shin strap doesn't have enough Velcro to tighten enough to feel secure, and the strap needs to have the Velcro extended. Some customers also mention that the strap is a bit too long and the velcro on the strap keeps sticking to everything.
"...The only issue is the strap length. Since most hand and foot items are undersized, I got a large for size 11 wide feet...." Read more
"...I have also found that the buckles on the straps work easily so I can just unbuckle them in the morning, then clip them back in place at night with..." Read more
"...So, the side straps look useless (although they must have some purpose)...." Read more

Customers are mixed about the ease of use of the orthopedic brace. Some mention that it's easy to put on with the 3 velcro straps and comfortable enough, while others say that it is hard to put onto, hard to walk on, and cumbersome to reach the buckles.

"...is padded for comfortable wear, the foot position in the splint isn't optimal for walking, so I prefer wearing shoes with support insoles during the..." Read more
Customers are mixed about the weight of the orthopedic brace. Some mention it's not as bulky as the others they have bought, it packs up small, and is more comfortable than expected. However, others say that it'd be difficult to sleep in and is a little heavy to sleep with.
"...It's certainly bulky, but that seems necessary for it to work. I found it comfortable enough to sleep the whole night in right away...." Read more
"...even though the straps are longer than necessary, because the overall fit is very good...." Read more
"...So, again, don't worry that this is a cheaper option. It a little bulky, but worth it!" Read more
"...The large size fits well enough on my size 10 foot. It is easy to put on with the 3 velcro straps and comfortable enough for what it is...." Read more
Customers are dissatisfied with the fit of the orthopedic brace. They mention that the smallest size doesn't fit snugly enough to keep their heel in place, and the brace seems to run a little big. It's uncomfortable to sleep in, and feels too tight when they lay down. The lower straps cannot adjust small enough to give a tight hold.
"...then up to keep my foot from moving, then when I lay down, they feel too tight - and my toes go numb...." Read more
"...What fits when you are standing or sitting does not fit lying down. The adjustments get much tighter and cut off your circulation...." Read more
"...The fit is fine. I still had the same problem mentioned in a couple other reviews...." Read more

Edited 12/20/19: I wore it nightly for 6 weeks and my 3 center toes started getting partially numb around 5 1/2 weeks, so I stopped wearing it. It's been nearly 7 weeks since I stopped wearing it and although my plantar fasciitis is much better, my partial numbness still exists. I used the brace with a wedge for added pressure to my foot; maybe that was too much strain on the nerve(s) to my toes so I recommend it be used initially without any wedge. At the onset of any numbness its use should probably be ceased. Apparently I waited too long. I've seen other comments about this same issue and should've been more careful.
The large size fits well enough on my size 10 foot. It is easy to put on with the 3 velcro straps and comfortable enough for what it is. It feels like wearing ski boots to bed and it takes some getting used to, but I imagine any hard splint is the same. I read a review on a different splint that offered tips on wearing it for the most comfortable fit, and it works with this one too. Tighten the shin strap the tightest, tighten the ankle strap firm but not as tight, and leave the foot strap loose enough to slip 2 fingers under. It still allows the foot to remain at a 90 degree angle, but doesn't cut off circulation during the night or cause pain. It worked well for me.
As for cons, the velcro straps are really long and seem to be made for tree trunks, instead of human legs, but they still work. You'll just have a lot of extra strap left dangling after tightening them. It still gets 5 stars from me because it does what its supposed to do, at a third of the price of other splints on Amazon. How can you beat that?
That said, it's not working well for me. When I put it on... I put my foot against the ground, so that I can get my heel properly seated. But, when I lay down, my heel rises up, away from the bottom of the splint. This flattens out the top of my foot and means that I'm not in the proper position.
I can't get the amount of tightness in the straps to work for me. If I tighten then up to keep my foot from moving, then when I lay down, they feel too tight - and my toes go numb. This happens even when I remove the block under the toes. If I leave them looser, my foot moves out of position even more. Because of this, I always need to readjust the velcro, and can't just rely on the buckles. Really, this means that I'm going through 2 steps instead of one - buckle, then tighten. I think the buckles are a great idea, but they only work once you get the velcro adjusted comfortably.
I also tend to take the boot off in the middle of the night because of discomfort in my toes. I'm not fully conscious when I do this, I just sort of panic (numb toes - oh no - I'm dying!) - and remove it quickly and fall back asleep.
I'm not sure what the side straps do (you can see them in the picture, running diagonally along the sides of the splint. The splint itself is plastic, and (as far as I can tell), the angle doesn't adjust. So, the side straps look useless (although they must have some purpose). They tend to get tangled up in the straps that go over the foot and ankle for me though, causing some difficulty.
I don't want to leave a fully negative review, because I think the splint itself is good compared to the others I've tried. I've tried a "sock" type splint that pulls back on your toes (this hurts my toes, to the point that they feel sprained after sleeping with it on) and I've tried a splint that has plastic on top of your foot and uses velcro straps to hold your foot up to the plastic. This left my toes even more numb, as you need to tighten the straps considerably to keep your foot in position. This sprint is clearly better than that one, which I returned.
I wonder if I might need a larger size? I wear a 7.5 in women's shoes... but I'm overweight. I wonder if my calves might be a bit large, and if that could contribute to my heel rising out of the boot? (If this is a possible issue, it might be helpful for the manufacturer to include some info about it on the page, to help with sizing issues). I'm just not sure if this is actually an issue or not.
