This is the second TV stand fireplace I purchased - the first one arrived shattered and I had to return it (not from Amazon) and it was a disaster of a process. So I turned to Amazon hoping for a better experience. After much deliberation and a lot of anxiety that it would be another catastrophe, I bought this one. I am so glad that I did. It arrived beautifully packed - such that I could lift it myself and put it on my trolley to take to my apartment, all solo.
Although it would have been slot easier (and more fun) with another person to help, I was able to easily put it together alone with a little patience. The directions are fantastic, just make sure you read the whole pamphlet.
Now it stands gorgeously as the center piece of my studio. It would look great in any room and I'm thrilled I can see it from anywhere in mine.
I will say the that the downside of the great packing job was that it took a long time to unpack it. And the parts were covered in the little styrofoam pieces and wood dust that got on everything and everywhere. What I did (and highly recommend) is unpacked each piece, dusted it off and placed it in a separate location. Then when I was done unpacking I vacuumed the spot where I had unpacked everything before bringing all the pieces back over. It helped tremendously.
Also, lay out all the pieces in order (wood is numbered, hardware is lettered) and it makes it a lot easier to follow the steps and grab the correct piece when you're tired and ready to have your fireplace already.
Regarding the fireplace, it's warm out so I can't review the heat function, but the light is awesome. It's obviously not real, but it's beautiful and has that perfect not-trying-too-hard feel about being an electric fire. I love real fireplaces and adore this electric one. Only downside is no remote, but it's worth it over the ones with remotes that look ridiculous.
Overall I absolutely love mine and if you're looking for one like this I hope you love yours too!
