I got this to shoot at coworkers. There is a kind of nerf Cold War type situation, and I wanted something to defend my cubicle with.
I really like the mega darts. They seem to fly better and go farther. Plus the whistling sound makes everyone flinch.
The bow it powerful. I shanked a shot and it went about 75 feet. It was impressive. The sights are not great, you aim just over someone's head and you'll hit there belly button. It's not hard to pull the string back and there is a definite stop when the spring is fully loaded.
Some caveats:
1. It makes a lot of noise. It creaks when the string is pulled and it has a loud thomp when you let it loose.
2. It is not easy to make good hits. Like a real bow, the release is where you will mess everything up. I like to wrap my thumb over the string and then tuck it behind my index finger. When I release, I just pop my thumb foreword.
3. The string pulled from the bottom. The string pulls the spring down from the bottom. The top it held solid in place. It is a weird sensation, but it is a nerf toy.

Overall a lot of fun, and packs a whallop on unsuspecting coworkers. Would recommend.

Want a bow that works like an actual bow? You found it. This nerf bow gives you the feeling of actually shooting a bow. There's no trigger; you just load a dart, pull the string back and release, and shoot! It's a great toy, and good for all those Hunger Games and LoTR fans out there. The only downside of the bow is that the little orange bit on the string that shows you where to grab it will sometimes whack you in the back of the hand when you release. And the darts WILL fall out of the dart holders if you're running through the woods with it.

Other than that, it's a great toy!

This is our favorite nerf shooter. Its not a gun but we love how very realistic it feels when using it - the dart shoots as we let go of the string. We also liked how the mega dart whistles enroute to its target. My son is very good at aiming and hits his targets often. However, I cannot hit anything when using it. The aimer must be defective to an adult's eye - yes, I blame the aimer :) Anyway, it is a kid's toy so its a 5-star rating from him.
