Quiet Power

The iQ2000 uses a different type of alternator than standard generators. A digital inverter module converts the raw power produced from DC to AC power. Engine speed varies depending on electrical demand — which significantly reduces noise levels.

Stay Informed

Generator status indicators alert you to low fuel, low oil, overload or overheating. Simply brilliant.

Know your Limits

The exclusive Powerbar monitors and instantly displays the wattage you’re producing at the moment. So you’ll always know how much capacity you have.

Parallel Ready

Connecting two iQ2000 generators gives you twice the power when you need.

Powerdial

One simple-to-use dial integrates start, run and stop functions.

Three Modes of Operation

Select Turbo, Standard or Economy mode — whichever best fits your needs.

Product Description

Generac’s iQ2000 is the ideal generator for powering your desired loads in a variety of outdoor environments, including parks, campsites, backyard parties and tailgating events. Third-party testing has proven the iQ2000 to be quieter than its competitors*, which allows users to provide power to their desired loads without disturbing those around them. The generator can be connected to a variety of sensitive appliances, including electronics, as its digital inverter module converts the raw power it produces from DC to AC power. Best of all, the iQ2000 is easy to use and boasts innovative features not found on any other inverter generator in the industry. While the unit’s Start, Run and Stop functions can be manually set via the iQ2000’s PowerDial, users can toggle between Turbo, Standard and Economy modes through the use of a simple switch to reduce noise and fuel consumption rates based on load requirements. When items requiring higher power outputs are connected to the generator, Turbo mode should be utilized. For loads requiring minimal power output, switching to Economy mode is recommended; Standard mode should be utilized for all intermediate load requirements. To accommodate larger load requirements, the iQ2000 is also parallel capable. Users can nearly double the power output available to their desired loads by connecting two generators through the use of an optional Parallel Kit. In regards to product feedback, the unit’s dashboard bestows LED displays that can be utilized to continuously monitor the generator’s operating status. While the unit is running, users can verify how much time they have left before refueling is required by referring to the run-time remaining display, and the PowerBar constantly specifies wattage produced by the generator at all times. Other innovative status indicators include low fuel, low oil, overload and overheating alerts. *Based on independent lab tests using ISO 9614 to measure sound power levels vs. Honda EU2000i. Fuel Type: Gasoline

Great right out of the box...until it leaked gas and I couldn't register it.
I just received the generator today and filled it up with gas and oil. I did read plenty of previous reviews so I was careful when filling the oil etc. It started on the first pull with a little choke and purrs. It appears based upon previous reviews that they made some modifications to improve it. There is a tray under the oil fill/dipstick to catch oil if it overflows, the front panel on mine was nice and tight and the rest of the unit appears to be put together well. I quickly tested it out with a shop vac and it handled it no problem on economy with plenty of room to spare. I am going to use it this weekend for camping and will update my review after it does a little "work". I have attached a couple photos.Update 8/12/16 - It looks like Generac still has QC issues. I noticed gas leaking out of my brand new generator last night when I went into my garage for something else (lucky I did as it was steadily coming out and the tank was full). The fuel line was just about completely off the outlet from the tank. No way it had been installed properly...I had to run it outside and drain it into a bucket, clean it up and then take it apart and reconnect it the right way. An hour of my life and a wasted gallon of gas I will never get back.Still like the thing, but have to say this would never be an issue with a Honda or Yamaha. If I encounter another problem of any kind I will return it and buy something else.Update 8/14/16 - Went to their website today to register my generator. According to them, the serial number I entered was incorrect. I triple checked it and tried entering it again and it is accurate. Sooo, I called the telephone number that they provided (888-9ACTIVATE) in case I needed assistance and it says it is not a working number! Tried 3 times since yesterday and same message. I will try again tomorrow as it is outside of business hours now. I am continually unimpressed, however I like the unit but am afraid that I am going to wind up regretting my buying decision, I hope not. I am not downgrading my review from 5 to 3 stars.
