This carving set is gorgeous. It has a nice sharp blade and slices through meat very easily. I have only used the set on a small whole chicken so far and it sliced through smooth and with little effort. The set is well constructed and comes in a nice case with magnetic closure. The case makes it nice as a gift for someone or just to have for storage. I was very impressed with the quality of this set and can't wait to slice into that Thanksgiving Turkey or Christmas Ham with it.

The 8 inch Carving Knife is perfect for Pot Roast, Tri-Tip, Turkey, Ham etc. Extremely Sharp and smooth cutting. The 8 inch Fork, holds the meat firmly in place and there was no slipping during my test on the small chicken.

Not a great set, but it's ok for the price.
I decided to purchase an inexpensive carving knife to take to a friend's house for Thanksgiving, and not worry about what could happen to it. I chose this carving knife set based on the relatively low price and reading numerous reviews praising the quality of the knife.Upon unboxing the set, my first thought was "Oh, that looks nice." Then I noticed the scratches on the blade and the dimple in the fork. Taking out the knife and inspecting it closer, I noticed a few very obvious burrs on the back and side that look like someone slipped with the grinder. I also noticed numerous rough edges of metal adjacent to the wood. The fork has the same obvious rough finish to it. It seems like whoever made these said, "Ok, that's close enough. Next!" If I were inspecting this for quality, I wouldn't have allowed these to go in the box.All that said, I didn't pay a Wüsthof price, nor did I expect Wüsthof quality. This was purchased to be better than my friend's horrible cheap knives, and was almost considered disposable. Testing the edge, I was definitely not overly impressed. I tested slicing through a single sheet of paper, and I could definitely feel it tearing more than slicing. I'll use a stone and try to put on a better edge, but out of the box it's not great.All in all, this set is pretty disappointing. I'm not going to bother returning it, because it isn't worth my time or the return shipping to do so. This will do the job for which I purchased it, and I will probably "forget" to bring it home with me.
