Works great! Adjustable yet sturdy
Bought one of these at the good will for $1.99 was looking for something to do designs on my nails. When I was looking at my headband thing it said optivisor. Then I found out it has interchangeable lenses! I got a steal! My visor only came with the number 3 lens. It works perfect for nails and my customers individual lash extensions, but also puzzles and sewing. Which I now do and this helps so much!

This is made in you know were, but it is quite good. The optical clarity is very good in the glass and the adjustments all work fine. I think this is a good value vs the more expensive original version (which also does not come with all the extra magnifications). The reason the various powers matter is the focal length. We all tend to think we want higher power, but that comes at a huge price in how close the lens has to be to what you are viewing. Having more lens options for power lets you change focal length if you can work with less power. You can also easily use eye glasses underneath this.

This was another pleasant surprise. While I am not an expert on these I do know optics and these are the real deal. If I was to improve on this product I would improve the lens mounting a little but it is the same as the expensive brand I think. The head band is functional but could have a nicer liner. But all in all it is a good product and works as it should and I am certain paying another $20 for the other brand will not make me feel any better. I am fussy about my tools and I am very very happy with these. Plus the $20 higher ones on give you on magnification this has it all 4 magnifications for any need or purpose and they are good optical quality GLASS! I would have paid 3 to 4 times the money if I would have gone with the other brand to get what I got here.

This is a "Chinese knockoff" of the US made headband magnifier I have. Plusses include the lens plate set and extra pins to hold them in place. Also the adjustment lock is better then the one I already have. Lenses are glass, but not anti-reflection coated. They also do not have the built-in lens prism needed to give good resolution at close ranges. Forehead pad is molded waffled plastic instead of a felt-padded vinyl like the USA version. The pad leaves temporary marks in one's head after long use.

It does NOT include a light or close-up lens (loupe),

That said, the magnifier is very well made, fits well and stays put. Magnification is fine for everything I've used it for and the selection of lenses is great to have. Good value for the money and recommended.

I am very pleased with this product. It has a sturdy headgear that is easy to adjust and is very comfortable. The main thing I like about this item is that the lenses are optical grade glass. Real Glass! They are a little heavier than plastic but with the great headgear that is not a problem. When they get smudged, you don't have to worry about using a tissue to wipe them. With plastic lenses, any paper products can scratch them. For just a few dollars more, you get these great, beautifully clear, almost scratch-proof, optical quality lenses and a sturdy, easy to adjust headgear that puts all others to shame!

I wear progressive lenses and ordered this magnifier to help me hand-sharpen woodworking saws with fine teeth, such as dovetail saws. I need a relatively long working distance, such as 20”, the distance supposedly allowed by the 1.5X lens.

Wearing progressive lenses makes this product difficult to use. To achieve the advertised working distances with progressive lenses, you must be looking through the very top (long distance/infinity focus) part of the progressive lens. If you look through the lower portions of the progressive lenses, the working distance of the focus gets progressively closer. So, a working distance of 20” shrinks to 4”-5” if you look through the lower portions of your progressive lens eyeglasses.

Since most objects you work on would be on a counter or bench, in front of you, below your line of sight, you’ll need to dramatically tuck your chin down (and tilt your head downward) to use the visor while looking only through the uppermost part of the progressive lenses, otherwise you can't work at the 20” focus distance. I found working in this position very uncomfortable.

The same issue presents itself with each of the four lens set magnifications. The working distances advertised are accurate only if you use the very top of your progressive lens. At 3.5X magnification, without glasses or through the lower portions of my progressive lenses, the working distance of the focus is reduced to 1.5”- 2” from the outer surface of the visor lenses.

You can pull your glasses down to the end of your nose, so as to lower the lenses, making it possible to more easily look through the upper portion while looking down. The space between your glasses and the inside of the visor is sufficient to allow this. It's a little awkward, but it works okay as a temporary work-around.

You can't use the visor without your glasses without also decreasing the working distances. In my case, if I use the visor at 1.5X magnification without my glasses, the working distance (measured from the outer surface of the visor lens to the viewed object) reduces from 20” to about 5”.

If you don't need to wear eyeglasses or you have single focus eyeglasses, all of the above is of lesser importance.

The means of attaching the lenses to the visor (“plastic nails”) is pretty crude. Mine kept popping out. The holes for the nails in the visor I received were not properly aligned with the holes in the magnifier lenses. The lens attachment system needs to be improved. Providing a little packet of extra nails doesn't solve the problem of misalignment and the nails popping out. The owner instructions for use could also stand some improvement and proof-reading.

I didn't find this product useful for my purposes because I wear progressive lenses and I consistently need longer working distances, like 12”-20”, which could not be easily achieved in my situation. The visor might have been workable if I didn't wear progressives.

Good quality head magnifier with glass lenses in plastic mounts. Fairly priced. Replacing lenses not easy, but once you find the magnification that works best for you you'll be very happy to have this to look at the numbers on a pill, silverware hallmarks, small screws in anything, that mole on the back of your hand, or a little splinter. No one over 45 should be living without this.

SKYZONAL Headband Magnifier Jewelry Visor Opitcal Glass Binocular Magnifier: I understood that this is a knockoff of a well known name brand. But I thought it'd be fine for light duty in my plastic model making hobby. On the very first use the attached lens fell off and shattered. The attachment points are too flimsy to securely hold the heavy lenses. Even worse, the unit is uncomfortable all around. I can feel every edge. I wish I'd bought the Donegan.

I'm about to turn 50, and my eye sight is getting worse for near vision. My wife is always asking me to fix jewelry or small mementos, and I do a fair amount of small/detailed projects around the house, so this product has been a real game changer. I can't believe I waited so long to buy these. I use the lowest magnification setting and it is perfect for miniature projects.
