Customers are mixed about the cap adhesion. Some mention it's an awesome manual capper, while others say they had problems getting the caps to crimp properly. It takes more pressure to cimp the caps than one would think, and it requires a lot of force to cap bottles.

    10 customers mention6 positive4 negative

Customers are mixed about the seal. Some mention it's a great seal that seals the caps exponentially better than what they previously used, and has a higher success rate of properly sealing bottles. However, others say that it doesn't create a full seal, and some of the caps didn't seal properly.

"...over 30 bottles, 3 batches, with it and it works and seals the caps exponentially better than what we previously used...." Read more

"...tried multiple settings and like others have mentioned, this doesn't create a full seal...." Read more

"...Easily fixed with a .5" wood block. Great seal and easy to use. Would recommend it to anyone bottling brew." Read more

"...It was a pain in the butt and some of the caps didn't seal properly. This presses the cap down and crimps it perfectly every time...." Read more

Huge upgrade over the hand-held capper.

Huge upgrade over the hand-held capper.
This thing is a life saver. I had the standard hand-held capper that came with my home brewing kit, but during my last batch, it failed to cap (seemed to slip off most of the time) nearly 1/3 of my bottles; not what you want to happen after spending the time and money on a 5 gallon batch. This is obviously much more expensive, but unless you plan on kegging, I think it's a must have. I just finished another batch, and capped 50 bottles, in literally a quarter the time, without a single failure, using at least 5 different bottle styles/brands.It's built solid (felt better than the red bench capper my LHBS carried). It is top heavy, and I highly suggest mounting it to something. I bought a 2x6" piece of scrap wood at Menard's for $2, and can run this thing one-handed if I want. You can use it without mounting, but will need to hold it down. I would recommend practicing a few times with it. I initially was setting it too high, and it wasn't crimping the caps. The top should be just above the bottle, and you need to use a fair amount of force, but you'll feel the cap "give" as you pull down. Once you get the hang of it, it's great. If you've got different height bottles, you might want to separate and cap them in batches so you're not constantly adjusting the height.
