Once again, getting new pedals and seat. Another chain and cassette worn out. Still I don't see a single reason to change this bike. It is damn perfect. Light, maneuverable and controllable, durable. I can't believe I got this beauty on sale for 415 bucks, definitely worth twice that.
It was very easy to assemble. Requires only a few basic tools. Adjustable wrench (or open-end wrenches), a set of good hex keys and a screwdriver is all I needed. I would have a local bike professional tune it up after assembly if you don't know how to adjust the derailleur and brakes. However,YouTube has videos and it's not hard once you get the hang of what everything adjusts for.
I did need a gel cover for the seat or would definitely recommend riding shorts.
I ride about 20 miles a day on this bike and overall am very happy with it!

Now have just under 2000 miles on the bike. Only altercation I have had is 1 tube replacement. A small piece of glass popped the tube and I patched it which lasted a week or so. The tire lost air easily so I replaced it. Not a big deal though. Besides that, I have had no major mechanical or structural issues with the bike. I'm happy so far though, I now realize doing over 600 miles a month that I will need to upgrade to a 1200-1500 dollar bike.
Update: 1 month later
Have now rode a total of 530 miles and things are holding up well. The bottom bracket has not totally worn out but I have dealt with some clicking and plan to replace it with something new. Possibly a hollow tech BB and better crank set as well. The tires and tubes have surprisingly held up all this time. I also plan to purchase some clipless pedals and shoes for that. Very pleased thus far.
Great first impression. Took about an hour to assemble. Have already put 25 miles on the bike (coming from south Florida) and it rides smooth and have not had any issues with tires. The reason I am giving it 4 stars is because upon assembly, I noticed that the front derailleur was rubbing against the chain when I shifted on to the largest chain ring. I made all possible adjustments with the cable tension, barrel adjuster, and limiting screws but nothing seemed to fix it. I brought it into a local shop and they said the bottom bracket is not fitted properly for the bike and unless you change it or get another derailleur, it will continue to rubb. However, they made some adjustments including tightening the crank set, and bending the derailleur slightly so that the bike ran smooth and I would not have any issues. It may need to be permanently fixed in the future. Luckily, they did not charge me for the fix. I am 5.8" and I have Long arms but the bike is still a little big on me and requires me to lean forward more than I would like. The seat is poor quality so I'd recommend upgrading. Brakes work alright and are cheap but on flat roads there shouldn't be an issue. Tires are stock 28 mm and are holding up very well for now. I am brand new to road biking and I am 24 and in good shape so maintaining 18-20 mph is easy without a headwind. Overall, is highly recommend purchasing this item however, expect to put money into it if you want to ride this for years to come.

UPDATE: THEY RESPONDED ONCE AND THEN STOPPED RESPONDING. DO NOT BUY SCHWINN. THEY WILL NOT SEND YOU PARTS OR REPAIR EVEN IF YOU'RE UNDER WARRANTY. DO. NOT. PURCHASE. SCHWINN. BIKES. SPEND A BIT MORE FOR A BETTER FRAME ANYWAYS AND YOU'LL THANK YOURSELF LATER.
AFTER REPAIRING THE BIKE WITH MY OWN MONEY, IT RIDES TERRIBLY AND HAS TROUBLE SWITCHING GEARS SOMETIMES.

UPDATE: Weather allowed me to take it out for 3 rides this week. 30k plus each of them. I averaged 27kmph on the rides on crisp March mornings. This thing is fast. Claris system works well. I did have it tuned at the shop. Shifts like a dream. Worth the money but put 28mm foldable tires on it.

Everything seemed good, until I noticed a sand grinding noise from the rear wheel (which I later discovered was coming from the freehub). So, I ended up purchasing tools and took the cassette apart. Doing so, I notice the rear hub and axel assembly were extremely tight, and hard to twist by hand. This led me to check the front hub also - and same issue... the ball bearings in both wheels were over squeezed.. So I ended taking the hubs apart, replaced the ball bearings (which I also ended up purchasing), lubricated the rear freehub which was making that sand grinding noise all along and voila, I am now a certified bike repairman!
After going through all this pain, the bike is fast, silent and a pleasure to ride! I give it lots of love, and tell it goodnight before bed!
Looking back, I did not fully appreciate what the reviewers meant when they said that this bike needs to be tuned and adjusted before ridding.
O, and also, it weighs 24lbs! :)
