We have gotten some heavy rains lately and our patio has a wall feature that becomes a pool.
This pump is able to silently pump all that water out quickly down to a very low level (like .25"!!)
This was much less expensive than other options but works great!
The pump has a nice cover to prevent debris from clogging it up, so I am sure it will last for years to come!
I hooked this up to my Wi-Fi plug and have my Wi-Fi camera watching the patio so I can activate it remotely if I ever need to. A fantastic purchase!!

April 2020 update - just used it effectively to pick up water directly from puddles on the lawn after heavy rain and snow melt - works like a charm!
It's super easy you just have to ensure that the power cable is elevated. Try using a saw horse or something of the sort.
The true test will be whether it lasts and I if you don't see an update, it's because it's still good. No news is good news.
* Although it can drain down to a skim of water left on the floor, it requires much more than that in order to _start_. So it is not particularly effective at removing puddles on flat surfaces, as they often don't have enough water for it to prime.
* No auto-shutoff _and_ states it shouldn't be run while dry. So you can't set-and-leave it.
* No on/off switch on the unit itself.
Why no-one has made a unit that has enough suction to actually get a floor dry I'll never know.
