This is a well made cheese slicer. It has a solid feel and works extremely well. The spare wire is appreciated - the need for a new slicer was necessitated by a broken wire in another brand. Adjustment in slice thickness is easy and a new feature that was very welcome. The only part I'm not super happy with is the handle seems a bit small in proportion.

I would not hesitate to get this again if I needed another. I probably wouldn't even look at other options.

It’s a great slicer in terms of sturdiness and being able adjust the thickness. But it’s quite finicky in terms of the types of cheese you can use with it. It works really well for medium hard cheese, like Gruyère - the cheese slices easily and effortlessly. But it’s really frustrating with harder cheese, like aged Comté. You have to apply a LOT of pressure and coax the slicer across, and it gets a little tiring.

 I could grab a knife when this is dirty, but no, I will gladly wash this when I need to cut cheese. Equal looking pieces, no cuts on kids' fingers and so conveniently easy. I love the extra or spare wire. I've gone through a lot of other cheese cutters because that part breaks. I have not had to use my spare part yet after 4 years of owning this!

Only con is I have to make sure my screws are tight after washing. Just good practice anyways.

One could not ask for a better quality cheese slicer and the fact it comes with a replacement wire was the selling point for me. Overall it does a great job but the design I find a bit odd. The wire is not centered on the head and it has taken a bit of getting used to when slicing down on a large block. Perhaps it poor technique on my part but I've had trouble getting a 'clean' cut at the bottom of the cheese block. I'll keep at it but I must underscore that the quality is top notch and very sturdy.
