LOVE this bottle for running, but take note that not all pouches are the same size
I purchased one of these Nathan water bottles over 2 years ago, and it's my favorite bottle by far For running. The hand grip allows you to carry the bottle without having to actually "hold" onto it. I've taken this bottle on many a long training run, and it's gotten me through a few half marathons as well. I have had zero leaking issues, and I love that I don't have to pull or yank or unscrew anything to drink. I can take a nice big swig with this bottle (I hate bottles that trickle out water, or that I have to bite down to drink through a straw). This bottle is awesome in every way. NOTE: listing says bottle holds 18oz. This is not true. I used a measuring cup and 16oz of water filled it to the very brim. Now, to address some questions about how much the pocket holds. Some have said "It will hold 'x' phone", and others have said it absolutely will not hold the same phone. I believe all reviewers are accurate, but the pouch size varies based on the color chosen. If you look at the pictures carefully, you will see that on some colors, the zippered pouch goes up all the way to the top. These models will fit my iPhone 6 in an Otterbox case with a little wiggle room to spare (zips very easily, not a tight fit, still room for fuel, keys, tissues, etc). Other colors show a pocket that is more centered on the front of the bottle, and shows some fabric between the zipper and the top of the bottle. When I try to fit the same phone in that pocket, it doesn't fit by a long shot. Still fits my keys, fuel, and tissues, and I've stuffed gloves in there as well, but even my iPhone 5s was a snug fit and hard to zip all the way. So if fitting a large phone in the pocket is important to you, study the pictures and choose carefully. As of this writing, it appears that the Black, Cockatoo, Very Berry, Methyl Blue, and Bluestone are the larger pocket size.

My friend recommended this bottle now that I have been running longer distances. I really wanted the Nathan vest, but $150 is a little much at the moment. So I got this and it was definitely a good choice. I ran 7 miles yesterday and was glad to have a drink with me, as well as a spot for my IPhone. I have an IPhone 6 with a case and it fits perfectly. I was a little wary of the reports that it leaks, but after shaking it, holding it upside down, etc I couldn't get this one to leak; maybe it will in the future? If it does Ill update this. But at least for now I have nothing but praise for this. It felt comfortable in my hand. The adjustment strap to tighten the grip never loosen, which is phenomenal for 7 miles of bouncing around. My drink stayed cold and my phone stayed dry. Wonderful product.

this bottle has been a lifesaver. I never knew how much I'd need it until I had it! I take it on all my runs because it helps to stay hydrated! I haven't used the pouch yet but it fits my iphone 7.

ABOUT THE LEAKING CAP:
i was skeptical about buying this after reading about some people experiencing leaking problems. the first time i put the cap on and shook it around, it leaked. HOWEVER, then i dried it all off, and then re-put on the cap more carefully, and there was no leaking whatsoever. it is all about how you put the cap on. I've only used this bottle about 5 times but from my experience, this bottle does not leak if you do it right. I've LOVED using it on every run.

I love how this bottle fits in my hand. It isn't too heavy and is the perfect size for my normal 5-10k runs. The zip pocket has room for my keys, a gel and my inhaler.

You have to be careful when screwing on the bottle top. If you don't get it on there just right, it will often leak. Other than that, I love this water bottle!
I've owned two so far (lost the first one) and the insulation does keep my water pretty cool.

UPDATE: Be careful when washing the lid. The mouthpiece has little pieces of clear rubbery plastic inside that control the suction. Somehow I got too aggressive when cleaning mine. I didn't notice at the time, but went for a run today & those little pieces of rubber are gone and water kept bouncing out with every step. I'm definitely going to purchase a new one though. This one lasted 6 months before the issue and the issue was probably my fault.

I am extremely happy with this product. I am not an avid runner, but a few years back I started to run training for a 10K race that I now do every year. I always see people running at the park without water and don't know how they do it. My mouth gets so dry even at very short running times/distances. I always hated carrying my water though as it was awkward and my hand would start to hurt from holding the bottle.

This is the perfect solution, just slip your hand in and you can grip around the bottle if desired or you can not grip at all and it stays in place. It is just the right size (some similar products I have seen are half this size and it is just not enough water for me personally) and the insulated bottle helps keep water cooler longer. I also love the pocket in front I can stick my keys/chapstick/etc in.

My only complaint or suggestion for improvement would be to add some sort of thin, sweat wicking fabric between where you stick your hand in and the bottle to help with your hand getting all sweaty around the plastic bottle.

Some reviews mention having problems with leaks, but I have not had this issue. I hand wash the bottle after each use and turn it upside down to dry.

Really nice hand held bottle, good quality construction & comfortable to carry without having to grip it. The high flow top works well. I like the hi-viz reflective accents on the strap and the bottle. The pocket is just big enough to hold my Samsung Galaxy s6 phone or several energy gels. I haven't tried using the bottle for longer runs yet to see how well the insulated bottle keeps my drink cool.
This is exactly what I was looking for.

Bought this bottle to help in my training for a marathon. I used to carry a bottle of water with me that I would drink from every 3 miles or so, but the water would heat up with the warmth coming of my hand. At about 6 mikes it was way to warm to be refreshing this bottle fixes that problem. It will hold a full Ice Mountain water bottle and it keeps it pretty cool. The top takes a little getting use to get the water out, but it never leaked on me. Once I got used to how to drink from it I really loved using it. Huge improvement. Also the handy pouch is great place to keep energy gels and such, it even held my iPhone X. Easy to clean, just hand wash the bottle with hot water and throw the rest in the washing machine, comes out good as new. Overall a great product for anyone who needs to carry some water on a long run and wants to keep it cool.

This handheld has a lot going for it. The bottle itself is water tight and doesn't leak. It's a relatively small capacity, and you'll need to refill every hour or so, but that's no problem. My issue with it is the size of the carry bag. It just BARELY fits my Samsung Galaxy S8, and if there is ANYTHING else in that compartment with the phone, you can forget it. It's common to see me on the trails, fussing with the zipper, cursing up a storm (im sure to the amusement of the passersby). If I so much as put my phone in there with the headphone jack attached, it is a surgical procedure getting the thing to close. So, just keep that in mind. Great bottle, but if you have a large phone that you intend to store in this compartment, I'd thing again.

I was a water belt wearer until recently I kept getting side cramps or soreness, and I started looking for alternatives. I've heard people talk about these and figured it was worth the try. SO glad I did! I thought holding a bottle would be a pain, but it really isn't. If you hold it just right, with your thumb through (hard to explain) it just kinda stays on your hand. The pocket is big enough for snacks or an iphone, or both (depending upon your snacks, of course). Since buying this a month ago, I've worn it for a technical trail half, a 20 mile trail run, and lots of shorter stuff. Easy to open and refill. I'm thinking my belt (also made by Nathan, and totally decent quality), won't be seeing much action anymore.
