The response of the ball very good, not fast, on top of that it slightly resist the windI like everything about it.Even my mates all love it we have another professional ball from other famous brand but we all agree this is the better oneIn case you wonder I got the Chinese version as one of the sellers here claims to have only the Chinese version

My first order here was the old style Wilson, they were yellow and white (order was good). This new order is for 2 of the OPTX (still Wilsons, just brighter and mostly yellow). It came on time, no problems. A little expensive for a beach volleyball but it's what they are using these days. Don't get balls wet or, like most beach volleyballs, they get heavier permanently as well as wear down and crack. For serious beach games or practice make sure you order "offical beach" "or "official avp beach" volleyballs, never one marked replica or replica ball. You probably should buy 4 or more good balls for practice and replace them each 6 months if you use them a lot. I have a few of each type of beach volleyballs (previous Wilson, Spalding KOB, Mikasa, and now OPTX-Wilson) since different groups like to play with different balls. Wilsons are a little heavier, so they are good for windy days but hard on the shoulder over time. Mikasa is much lighter, like an indoor ball, and less painful to the shoulder but it moves like the devil when windy and if you hit it as hard as a Wilson it will often land out. KOB is in between. Since it makes a difference, if you are looking to enter vb tournaments, try to practice with whatever game ball will be used in that tournament (ask them when registering and don't assume).
Buy a nice volleyball bag if you have more than 2 balls and have a large plastic bag inside it in case it starts to rain (to make sure balls don't get wet and ruined). Buy a small hand-air pump with a PSI meter. Inflate each ball to the correct PSI listed on the ball (each brand is a different PSI) and don't listen to know-it-alls who want it deflated below the PSI range indicated on the ball. Check every few weeks to make sure the PSI in the ball is correct. A lot of people are using this type of OPTX ball these days so write an easy matching identifier or design on it using a marker (not your name or phone number since I saw a vb once hit a passing motor-scooter that caused it to crash into a parked car).
When not using them keep them out of direct sunlight and not in wet or humid areas. Keep away from pets with claws or sharp teeth. Avoid washing a volleball with any liquid. Just use a dry rag. Don't kick them with sneakers or shoes or they will scuff. Also avoid bouncing them excessively on cement or hard surfaces. If you're going on a trip or tournament trip deflate and bring 1 or 2 with you (carry-on is ok).
Have fun!

I bought mine from Midwest Volleyball Warehouse and it was the real deal. This is a great ball for outdoor play - it lasts forever and it feels great. The official ball is made in China, which is what I got. Wilson unfortunately makes a different "recreational" level ball that looks almost identical, but is made in Vietnam. I was in Target and got to feel it - it is very different, almost plasticky. So if you get a made in Vietnam version that feels wrong, it isn't a fake product - it is the wrong product.

We have a Beach Volleyball Club at work, and we are split 50/50 on whether the Spalding King of the Beach or the Wilson AVP is the better ball. Both are great though - we play with both. I think the Wilson AVP is more popular on the West Coast.

Got this one for my daughter who was just starting to learn hard-court volleyball. The one I had before was hurting her badly. This one is soft to touch but not too soft, good enough to help her arms adjust better. So far fairly decent durability as we use this for practice outdoor on asphalt. The other ball I had showed obvious nicks and cuts after a few practices but this ball seemed to hold much better. She now carries this ball everywhere around the house and are spending a lot of time outside practicing. Love it.

This is as good as it gets for beach volleyballs. Of course, the downside is the high price. But you get what you pay for. This is a high quality ball that will give you years of playing. I recommend this ball for beginners all the way through pros. Don’t waste your time with lower quality balls because they will hurt your arms and hands.

I like it but I don't love it. And in light of the fact that there is not a huge price drop from the new Optx, you might as well get the updated one which wins on durability. This one fades quickly if you are using it on a crappy beach.

But still good for the novice concern of "too hard on the forearms." Super soft.

I am not a huge fan of Wilson indoor volleyballs for numerous reasons, so I never guessed in a million years that Wilson’s beach volleyball would be worth a crap. I was wrong. From serving to passing to setting to attacking, this ball is amazing. It’s like all the problems outdoor balls face (sand, water weighing it down, etc.) fade away, and you can just focus on what maters: playing volleyball.

PS—The way the inflation valve is hidden and almost impossible to detect by the eyes AND hands is genius. What can’t every volleyball use this technology?

I ordered the AVP II ball last week from Amazon. The ball arrived a little deflated (which we thought was intentional), but apparently it had a defect because we played that night and the next morning it was flat again. This ball was one of the ones made in Vietnam (which I had read previous reviews that had similar problems). We sent it back to Amazon and they sent us another ball the next day. This ball came inflated and was one made in China. The ball made in China is clearly made WAY BETTER! We are very happy with the purchase and love the ball. Would highly recommend-just make sure you get one that is made in China!

We played for a long time with cheaper balls but once I got this one we realized how bad the copy balls were. The ease of playing with this ball is just awesome. I've had it now for 2 years and the ball is still perfectly intact (played around 200 hours). If you play beach volley ball, invest in one of these. It's worth it. I will definitely buy another one of these in case mine breaks.

A nice ball, light and some how still soft even when the pressure is firm.

I was on the receiving end of some excellent over hand servers, don't know what speed that ball was traveling at, but it was fast, some balls you feel the impact, this one seems to absorb the impact and remains relatively controllable for the return albeit depending what speed it is travelling at it returns at a similar speed to which it arrived.

I have used Wilson Volley balls for years but they where around £10.00 each from the local sport store. This is a much better ball and seems to have better stitching. If you love beach Volley Ball as I do, then I would recommend taking one on holiday with you, better still take 2, I have lost more than one over the years to the odd cactus or thorn.
