I walk my dog a lot. We average 40+ miles per week. Other cheap hiking shoes/boots don't get it if you are max-ing out their usage. The cheap unnamed ones, one third the cost of Danner, wore out in a month. The last pair of cheapies wore through the cheap rubber heel and sole to the air cushion construction rendering them useless in four weeks. After 30 days wearing my Danner boots, the heel and sole wear is at a slight minimum. (Danner claims that their sole material, Vibram, is a superior and log wearing rubber.) Granted, it is winter and the shoes have had a little benefit of low abrasion from ice and snow, but they still seem to be holding as I expect. As of yesterday, they are still waterproof, I'm happy to say. I paid a lot more for these boots, like three times more, and they should last more than three months. I hope they will because if they do, I will buy another pair of Danners when the time comes. Look for an 'wear' update in two months to this review to monitor my progress if you're interested. It's now my fifth month anniversary with a daily average close to, if not, 6 miles per day and I still have soles. The Vibran heel part has been wearing down to the next layer but non of that cheap shoe waffle under structure in sight. So I think I will have a couple or three months more out of these. I will keep you posted after three months. The body of the shoe is great. Still waterproof with the suede in great condition. I cleaned them once with suede cleaner and a waterproof spray. Evewn the shoe laces are the originals. These boots are very very good.

Average 10k steps daily on these boots. These have been used for hiking and everyday use (mostly hiking).
I'm 330 pounds

Overall great boot, lightweight and comfortable out of the box.
Considering my weight and the hundreds of thousands of steps I have taken in these,
, I would say they are worth it. These pictures where after i had the boots submerged thruout a hike and the back of the boot barely starter to give way today (same with the toe). Overall good quality boot that grips amazing on all surfaces wet or dry.

Update 2/23/19
Waterproofing i dont think held up, i went for a wet/dry hike today and they got my feet all wet. Hard to tell if its the liner or the boot being to short. Overall im still satisfied..

Update Aug 13th 2019. These are finally being replaced. Not bad consodering the extra wear i usually put on my shoes. Still satisfied overall.

Update 9/16/19 one year later and these boots have been replaced with same ones. These boots are very comfy even if your a bigger guy.
