At first I was concerned about how the high-range isn't exactly fantastic but then I realized how well-imaged the sound was in comparison to the other speakers I've owned. My two pieces of advice when you buy this speaker:
1. Make sure you have a good receiver. I've gotten advice about this from a prominent audio critic who said that the Uni-fi "respond well to power"
2. Buy a subwoofer (the imaging on these speakers is shockingly good for their price but they don't do low bass very well)
All-in-all I'm super happy with these speakers. It's very difficult to imagine speakers in this price range sounding this great. One other speaker line to consider, which I haven't had the chance to hear yet, is the new Q series from KEF. The general consensus seems to be that Uni-fi beats the old Q series but I haven't heard any comparisons to the new Q series yet. It's something worth looking into. That being said, I would not hesitate to recommend these speakers to anybody searching within this price range. I'm honestly skeptical you could find better speakers until you get into the $1500 per speaker price range.
Power was another thing.
I have an Outlaw Audio 120 wpc 5 channel amp that I was using to run the 5 channel setup I had. The floor standers sounded fine, though not substantially better than the bookshelf's so I bought an Emotiva 5 channel amp with 250 watts per channel all channels driven. And in 2 channel mode, the amp kicks up to 300 wpc. With 4 ohm speakers that kicks up to 490. Into 2 speakers.
Yes. That's what you want to do.
It made all the difference.
These speakers can handle serious power and they shine unbelievable when you do that. The Emotiva powers my fronts, rears and center speakers. The outlaw powers the little atmos speakers and side surrounds.
An Oppo UDP-203 handles movies and music and the LG OLED handles the picture.
All in all, I think I'm finally done with my system. I hope I never have to add or change anything else. I doubt I could improve on it without dumping hella amounts of money into a completely different system which I have no interest in doing.
Bottom line: save your money and go into separates or if your receiver allows external amps, do that. Bypass your internal amp with a pricey external amp with a ton of power and you'll hear the best your system can sound. I had a Denon 7 channel 3000 series amp with outputs for an external amp. That's why I bought the outlaw years ago, to try that for $500. That was worth it, external amps nearly always make your receiver sound better. I eventually took the $1700 plunge into the big Emotiva amp and really, everything else sounds substandard by comparison. It really brings these speakers to life.
Nearly forgot, my sub is an Outlaw Audio as well. Also worth it.

After I moved in to my new house I decided that I'd do a ton of research and invest some of my leftover money in a new system. I also settled on some Fluances for about half the prices of these UF5s... especially because the UF5s apparently just came out and there was little info on them. However I'm glad I stumbled across their existence. A couple reviews, some videos, interviews with the engineer and I was sold. I reached outside my budget for this. And I'm insanely happy with the results.
The difference is night and day. I'm absolutely blown away by these things. The sound fills the room, hell it fills my head. I hear details and nuances. Things existing in the music that I never knew existed. The tones are almost spot on perfect (to my ear). And the overpowering bass that I had with my last set of speakers is totally gone. Even better, the sound is contained to the position I set them up in, as in the sound doesn't blast out the sides and back of my house which means no interrupting the neighbors while still raging at high volume in my living room. My vinyl collection finally sounds worth listening to, my collection sounds completely brand new.
Can't rave enough about these things. And this is on a crummy 50 dollar sherwood (or Sherman?) receiver that I bought on Craigslist. My next upgrade will be a nice integrated amp with some punch, I can't even imagine the treat I'm in for there. Daaaayam.

Should never sell speakers as a single unit as hifi is always stereo and speakers must come in pairs!
Utterly disappointed!
