2-Tools-in-1
The GT converts from a trimmer to an edger and back again. And you don’t need any tools to make that change. Save your money, don’t buy a separate trimmer and edger.
-
Command Feed
Just press the button to get more line. No bumping, no auto-feed is “guessing” when you need more line. You’re in command. Plus, when you buy the GT, you get fresh spools for life!
-
Adjustable Handle
Ergonomic 7-position handle for easy handling and comfort.
Spacer Guard
Protect flowers, plants, and lawn furniture from accidental trimming. The adjustable guard is your best friend when it comes to keeping the decorative parts of your landscaping safe.
Trim Hard to Reach Places
The head tilts a full 90° so you can trim in tight, awkward spaces, or so you can edge in uneven terrain. The handle is fully adjustable as well, so you can find a position that’s comfortable to work in.

Product Description
The WORX cordless 20-volt MAX lithium powered grass trimmer with Command Feed has taken grass trimming and edging to a whole new level of power and function. With the 20-volts of MAX lithium battery power, the WG163.9 provides longer run times and more power. The GT 3.0 now features a command feed button to extend the line as you work. No more stopping and starting, bumping or turning it over to extend the line, just press the command feed button and continue to work. The 12-inch cutting diameter means more trimming in less time. Not only will this cordless trimmer convert to an edger in seconds, it has dual-positioned in-line wheels that make edging a breeze. A quick-release trigger lever is convenient for making easy height adjustments to the telescopic shaft for comfort and control. The trimmer head turns with a pull and turn to lock and convert to edging. From function to features, the 20-volt Worx trimmer and edger features 100% single line feed which means no bumping to extend the line. A flower space guard not only helps protect vegetation, it also acts as an edger guide. A front auxiliary handle has 7 locking adjustments for maximum comfort while trimming, edging, or mowing. Weighing in at only 6-pounds, this 20-volt grass trimmer/edger will create a professional looking yard with less work, less fatigue and less time. THIS IS A BARE TOOL ONLY AND DOES NOT COME WITH THE 20V BATTERY OR CHARGER. THE WG163.9 WORKS WITH WORX 20-VOLT BATTERIES.

2nd, don't expect it to cut like your old gas trimmer. It doesn't have the grunt that a gasser has, so if you have really overgrown edges you will have to slow down and let it cut at it's own speed. If your edges are trimmed weekly, it will handle it with ease. I'm an aggressive trimmer lol, and I had to learn to slow down and let it do its job. It cuts way smoother than my gas trimmer, and leaves a nice clean swath. It's more controllable than traditional ones, but take the time to adjust the head and handle angle to suit your needs, trust me on this one it'll save you some headache. Downside is my fingers get fatigued from holding the trigger down. Not sure why it's any different from holding the throttle on my old one, but I noticed it.
Now the question everybody wants the answer to, battery life was great with a 20v 4ah. I basically have 3 yards, front, side, and back. With the back having extensive trimming needs. The 4ah battery lasted for all 3 and had one and a half bars out of 3 left. I was impressed. No noticeable drop in performance towards the end either.
I also tried a cheap no name brand 20v 4ah battery with the same results. So it'll take whatever you give it.
As for Quality, it feels like it should last a while. It's fairly light, and balanced ok. Line spools are very small, so I was worried about that, but I used way less line than I would have with my gas trimmer. Actually, I did all 3 yards without having to change spools. Oh yeah, get the pack of 6 or 8 extra spools, you won't regret the $12 investment. Overall, I'm happy with it and would buy again. Just remember to give it a few times of use so you can adjust to it.

The product is fairly lite and the battery last long enough for what is need. The quick change line cartridge is nice feature and love the edging capabilities as well.
I have just under half acre and trim around house and sidewalks no issues.
Do not use this on a wasp nest.
Here is a tip: soak your string in water for about 30 minutes before you use the trimmer. Nylon absorbs water and becomes more elastic. This will decrease breakage and extend the life of the reel.
Anyhow, I'm going to keep it. If I was getting another one I would pay extra and get the WG184.9 40V.
The 20v 12" is underpowered. It struggles with thicker grass. The WG184.9 is 13", and uses 2 batteries so I'm ASSUMING it has a lot more torque. The string feed on this one seems to work OK, but it does use thin strings. It works OK, but it's going to take me longer because it is so underpowered. I tried 4 different batteries- 2 of them had lights to show charge, all were fully charged. There are a lot of off-brand batteries available that fit and some have good reviews. All of mine are 2.0 amp hours so I think I'll order some 4.0 amp hour batteries and see if they give it more torque; but I'm not hopeful. This is the first worx tool I've used that seems underpowered. Overall though I've had good luck with all the WORX products, switched to them 5 years ago and nothing's broke yet and everything performs well with the exception of this weedeater. All the batteries are even holding up so far and I use them A LOT. Maybe the reason it seems so underpowered is because I'm used to using gas trimmers.

I was not expecting this level of performance. Even when I threw it in the middle of some thick wet grass, it didn't even hesitate. Much more powerful than I was expecting. A solid purchase.
Note that this product comes without batteries and is meant for people who already have WORX tools and 20V batteries.
