With respect to the hardware, the stand is super easy to assemble and seems sturdy and classy. I love the white back of the monitor - my desk faces the door so you see the back and it's a nice touch to have the sleek white with silver logo.
Overall I love them both!

As for color - I have a Mac, and if you go to the display settings in system preferences, you can choose Apple RBG which gets you closer to what you see on your laptop screen than their built-in adjustments. I would not use this display for any color related work, but it's a good place to stash all the little windows that come with programs like Illustrator. The color is consistent across the panel, not getting lighter or darker in some areas
Sharpness - ok. I tried the sharpness controls but they were overkill, so I went back to default. I have west facing windows, and the antiglare works really well though it might contribute to the not too sharpness.
Instructions - Set up was pictures only, and I needed them for figuring out how to attach the stand. As for the controls on the monitor, even if I could have read the 4 or 5 point type, the only instructions they sent me were in Spanish and Portuguese. I'm not big on reading instructions anyway and figured out how to make adjustments using the buttons beneath the display. If you do need instructions, they might be in English on the accompaning CD.

•• On Price & Connection Details ••
This monitor is a good deal for $150. I struggled to find an IPS display this thin or pretty for less. It's visual properties are crisp and colourful. You can plug it into your computer using HDMI for 1080p display. If you're in need of HDMI cables, check out: AmazonBasics High-Speed HDMI Cable - 6 Feet for some incredibly cheap, effective cables. You can also use VGA to connect, but this mutes everything. I heartily recommend HDMI (or its marginally better equivalent DVI-D, which this monitor does not do).
•• How are the aesthetics? ••
This monitor looks surprisingly sharp, and it's really quite compact. HP calls it their thinnest LCD monitor to date, and I can see why. It's much less bulky than any of my previous monitors, particularly my BENQ gaming monitors.
I love the slight angle manipulation. You can tilt it to get the angle you want. It's worth noting that you can't raise or lower the height of the monitor. If height is an issue, it can be solved by placing objects (like large textbooks) underneath the stand. It's not an issue on our desks, but it's something you may wish to consider.
•• Conclusion ••
In short, it's a great primary monitor for anyone who isn't the most hardcore of gamers. It's great for movies, for internet usage, for photo or art program manipulation. If you are a gamer, it makes an excellent secondary monitor. We've currently got it plugged into our motherboard, utilizing our onboard graphics. This way, our games take zero hit when we're messing about with the secondary at the same time. It's great. I'd definitely purchase again. If you have any specific questions, either leave a comment or ask in the Q&A. I'm very happy with it, and more importantly, my wife loves it.
