So ive been searching for a digital deep fryer for over a year...cant figure out why deep fryers arent digital...so my old digital deep fryer gave out & ive been trying to replace it but i just couldnt find one i liked...ive only used the fryer once but i didnt have any problem operating it & it worked great. I did buy the protection just in case. So what dont i like...it took awhile to heat up but thats fine as it is a big fryer...but what i didnt really understand is the fact the fry basket is just siting in the deep fryer...i dont know if i would want kids using this as theres no protection from putting something in the fryer...in my old fryer i could lower & lift the basket with the lid on...you cant do that with this fryer & you should be able to. I like the fryer. It took a minute to figure out the handles which is why i added the picture.

I am big on health and wellness but also know an air fryer doesn’t come close to the crisp and cook of a deep fryer. I did much back and forth before committing to this purchase.

Last year on a trip abroad we had top notch fish and chips. This is definitely not a heart healthy but oh so yummy dish. When we returned I wanted to have my husband (a chef) recreate the culinary experience.

After many weeks of discussion on air versus deep fryers he convinced me that air may be healthier but you just cannot achieve the same cook. He has now made fish and chips a few times and I am all in!

We use this in moderation due to the unhealthy nature of a deep fry but it is well worth the money. It is easy to clean (most is dish washer safe) and easy to drain and change the oil.

My husband likes the temperature control and has no worries about splatter as it offers a great top and easily lower basket. I will express I am not happy about the content space that this unit takes up. That being said, my only job in the kitchen is dishes so I live with it.

Everything is as advertised on the machine. It gets to temperature quickly, I really like the three baskets that came with it because my wife likes sweet potato fries and I like regular ones. We have cooked fries, chicken and fish with it so far and are really pleased with the results. The presets are pretty good also. The only trouble we had is that the chicken preset is for chicken nuggets and we tried a leg quarter and it didn't get done. Learn from that and go forward.

Was looking to buy another unit with built in storage tank, but did enough research to get concerned about eventual seal leakage and the associated mess. Decided to stick with a more traditional appliance. Chose this one due to high quality and good reputation. Some might find the extra smaller baskets handy for frying two different items, but using just one small basket for a smaller meal doesn't save on clean up. A small basket has to be cleaned up just like a larger basket. Also, a big plus is that outside of the electrical assembly, everything that gets really messy is dishwasher safe. (Main cooking reservoir, baskets, and handles) I was concerned about whether or not to try washing the lid in the dishwasher, and the manufacturer wasn't clear on the matter, so I wash it by hand. It really doesn't get as grubby as the lower parts and truly only takes a few seconds of hand washing to clean up.
Since it doesn't drain the oil for you, handling the used oil is still the worst part of deep frying. I purchased a couple stainless steel oil containers, a filter screen, and some cheese cloth when I bought the fryer. You could actually just filter the "cooled" oil right back into the original plastic oil jugs. If I'm going to fry again within the next couple weeks, I store the used oil in the refrigerator. If longer, I store in the freezer and take it out to thaw the day before I fry. Overall, an easy to use, quality unit.

I always used to shallow-fry in a cast iron skillet. I finally got myself a real deep fryer and use it in my makeshift outdoor kitchen (in Florida, outside under a screened lanai, in case you're wondering). This fryer works really well. It's larger than most, which is key so that I don't have to stand there frying as many small batches of stuff. It holds a a gallon (4.5L) of cooking oil and has both a full-width basket and two smaller half-width baskets, plus a nice cover with a handle to limit splattering.

The oil heats up reasonably quickly, although I wish it heated up a bit faster and went up a little hotter. Once you put food in to fry, the oil temperature goes down of course, and it takes quite a while to come back up. The temperature control goes up to 375 F maximum, and the control knob is a little tricky. You have to turn it one tick (5 degrees per tick) at a time; you can't just dial it straight up to temperature.

One issue is that the electrical cord is attached magnetically to the back of the fryer. If you have the unit positioned with the cord hanging down off the counter or something like that, the weight of the cord itself can pull the plug off its mount. You also have to be careful not to knock the cord out while you're moving around near the fryer - that of course is the reason for the magnetic attachment, as a safety feature.

The frying baskets are key when you're doing things like fries or shrimp, but they limit the depth of the oil available for frying. Also, the handles on the fry baskets detach but really don't provide a firm attachment when you're using them.

The fryer is reasonably easy to clean. Just let the oil cool completely, wash the baskets in warm soapy water, pour the oil oil, and wash the oil pan in warm soapy water. Lift the element off the stand and wipe it down with a soapy rag and maybe rinse it - but don't put the control unit under water. You can wipe down the stand and control unit with some cleaner on a paper towel.

All in all, I'm really happy with this fryer. The large size is key, and it's easy to use and clean. We've been enjoying fries, onion rings, chicken, shrimp, fish, and hush puppies - next up with be churros and funnel cake. Enjoy!

I was afraid that the power cord wouldn't stay on. I almost didn't buy it but, with my first use I could tell that the power cord would be stable unless I tried to move the unit. That's how it's supposed to work so no problem there.

This fryer is perfection. It fried my jalapeno poppers perfectly...in 4 minutes! They were golden the way they're meant to be, not dark brown and over cooked.

This is a pretty big fryer. For me, leaving it on the counter is not an option. I drain, strain and clean after each use. Also, the cover isn't air tight so I wouldn't store the oil in the unit anyway. That's just me though.

Over all, it works as stated. I'm pleased with my purchase. I would recommend this product to my friends and family.

Bueno yo compré esta freídora para un restaurant pequeño. Quería que fuera eléctrica para poder controlar la temperatura. Necesitaba que tuviera capacidad (la mayoría de las freídoras electricas son de muy poca capacidad), y me interesaba que tuviera timer y programas de cocción para sistematizar el proceso de freído de alimentos.

Es un equipo de excelente calidad, pero me decepcionó por 3 cosas:
1. Es muy tardado hacer lotes continuos porque tarda mucho en regresar a la temperatura necesaria.
2. Tiene 3-4 programas y tu puedes programar cosas nuevas si lo deseas (cosa muy buena), el problema es que al hacer esto tienes que programar la freídora cada lote, tantas veces como lotes tengas, porque se borra en cuanto termina (cosa mala), lo cual no es agradable pq los controles están muy cerca de la ventanita del vapor (cosa muy mala).
3. El termómetro sólo marca la temperatura final que se a programado alcanzar y en cuanto alcanza la temperatura se enciende una luz verde (cosa buena), PERO no puedes monitorear la temperatura a lo largo del proceso (cosa mala y decepcionante).

Por lo tanto, para uso micro comercial, no la recomiendo tanto. Para uso casero tampoco estoy muy segura de recomendarlo debido a que la capacidad pienso que esta sobrada para un hogar promedio.

Sin embargo me parece perfecta para foodnerds, que les gusta hacer experimentos con su comida. El hecho de poder programar exactamente cualquier temperatura, y tener un timer, permite hacer pruebas muy precisas. Lo único que sigo odiando es que no se puede monitorear la temperatura a lo largo del proceso, pero un termómetro infrarrojo soluciona el problema.

Aunque luego pienso en el precio y las tarifas de importación que tuve que pagar, y me arrepiento un poco de la compra...

I just got this today and did my first batch of fries for my boys. They turned out nice and crispy and flavorful however, there is still quite a strong frying odor that envelopes the kitchen and main floor when frying. The filter on the lid is not a filter that you replace. It is just two layers of metal that is built into the lid. The steam from frying still comes through quite a bit. You will need to have windows open when you use it. Also the electrical plug that plugs into the back of the machine easily disconnects if moved. For example I tried to move it a few inches away from my cabinets during the frying (because of amount of steam coming from the vent/filter) and it came unhooked from the back. Other down side is that there is no where to hang the baskets after you are done frying.... For the cost of this machine I would have hoped that there was at least an option to hang the baskets to allow the oil to drip, as well as a removable washable filter.
