Solid value. This my second pair. The first pair had the yellow, faux swoosh and lasted the better part of a year with a lot of the use being outdoors in sometimes nasty conditions (wet grass, mud and bird poop). In fact, I still have them and wear them in really terrible conditions.

The sole is rounded slightly so as to wear well, but not overly rounded a la Feiyue, which feels too rounded when new. The fit is snug. My first pair would have been too snug if they'd been any smaller. The 2nd. pair with the white swoosh is a bit larger, pretty much standard in size compared to other brands. The 2nd. pair has lost one metal eyelet and has one swoosh coming unstitched after only about 4 months, so I'm rating these at 4 stars rather than 5 (also, they went up a little in price).

The only drawbacks I'd mention is the style - more like a running shoe than a kung fu shoe, and that mud will stick in the ridges of the sole, especially when new. But, since I like the design of the sole a lot, this is more of a "comes with the territory" type of a problem than a serious complaint. It's really important to have a neutral sole in Internal Martial Arts so you can learn to feel every part of your foot. I definitely like these soles much better than the base version of Feiyues, which are snug in the front and too loose in the back. I've also had a pair that cracked horizontally on both shoes after about 5-6 months.

The Doublestars are just as good for bodyweight training and biking as they are for Martial Arts. Plus, if you have to walk a few miles, they give you enough padding so as not to kill your feet, unlike truly minimal Tai Chi slippers or the badminton sneakers that some practitioners wear.

First off I don't practice martial art so I didn't buy it for that purpose, I bought them because I saw a video on cheap minimalist shoes. this shoes are zero drop but I wouldn't consider them minimalist, they are more stiff and don't have wide the box, they are narrow maybe a bigger size might help but I doubt it, material on the shoe feels cheap wouldn't last long the insole do feel good quality and bottom of the shoe but I'm afraid that this shoes will take away my efforts to get used to minimalist shoes especially on the toes which are finally spreading more. Not for minimalist and defenetly not for extended use
