    Enhanced Sound But A Bit Pricey
    This is one complete sound system. Setup is fairly easy with only the need for an optical cord (included). You need to download the “MusicCast CONTROLLER app” on your phone, which is basically going to be your soundbars ‘brains’. Setup from here is ‘fairly’ easy with a guide to setting up your IOS devices Wi-Fi, and your Network (your home’s modem). The rest of the setup is through your Flat Screen with the remote controller.The sub-woofer is Bluetooth (no wires from your soundbar) which is very convenient, but it must not be obstructed from the soundbar with furniture. You can also hook up a Blu-ray player with an HDMI cord (not included) from your Blu-ray player to your soundbar. For this you will an extra HDMI cable to go from your soundbar to your flat screen.The sound is different than what I expected. You have a choice of stereo or surround sound (7.1) on your remote. The stereo was not severely separated, as the speakers are so close together in the center of the bar. The surround sound fared better with the sound sent out at angles to ‘bounce’ off your walls to simulate surround sound. It is NOT true 7.1 separation, but a good attempt that still sounds good. If you are an hard-core audiophile you might not like this. One thing to note about the surround sound mode is that it sounds best when there are unobstructed walls to bounce off from. I had to move a bookcase to get a better balance. I have a 5.1 surround system and this sounds more like that than a 7.1. I also want to add that only a few of the newer movies are in 7.1. Almost all others are in 5.1. That doesn’t make much difference in quality, however.The trebles were crisp, but the mid-range was just slightly lacking in tone. The bass was solid but lacked a plucky punch. Still the overall sound was satisfying.This is a very good sound system for someone that simply wants good enhanced sound. I did find the price to be rather high and I suspect it will come down in time. There is simply too much competition.

    I love this sound projector. I've recently bought a 55 inch OLED TV, so I needed to pair it up with a good sound system because the TV's built-in speakers just wouldn't cut it. I didn't want to mess with any wires and a multitude of speakers, so I decided to shop for a sound bar. This sound bar (a sound projector rather) is a perfect compromise between sound quality, ergonomics, and style. It looks very stylish and fits compactly in the TV cabinet just below my TV, so that I also have room for my Roku and an electronic clock in the same space. The subwoofer is of nice finish as well. The sound is great! Of course, if you are a fastidious audiophile, then you would be better off with a wired home theater system (with an AV receiver and speakers). But if you are looking for a sound-design-space solution, then this product would work great.

    Yes it is expensive for a sound bar but the quality sound and punch it delivers is worth it. I can't believe how dynamic the sound is when watching movies in Dolby Digital! Having apps like Pandora and Spotify built in as well as the capability of Apple Airplay was a couple of other reasons why I purchased this unit. I would highly recommend the YSP-2700!

    I have updated this multiple times but after a few years I’m just pissed at this purchase. Yamaha was the best of the best when I grew up. Now it’s a bunch of washed up engineers that know nothing of sound and tech anymore. This sound bar is nothing but problems. It’s a thing that 80 year old men created and think is good. It distorts my blue tooth music. It skips the beat. It’s horrible. Do the engineers know what blue tooth is? I’m so $&&@$ pissed I bough this crap. It can’t stay connected to my tv. It loses connection. To my phone. Music sounds distorted every few minutes. I bought Yamaha my whole life growing up and this is the moment in time they fell behind history. I have a $100 blue tooth Wonderboom thing that outperforms this ...

    I will continue to update this as it’s the worst money I’ve spent on a high performance music $&&@$&@

    $&&@ you Yamaha ....

    I wrote the review below and then after years of issues I realized how bad this is. The sound is good when it’s working properly. My tv barely stays connected (blue tooth is not even 10% ok. My phone barely stays connected and sometimes music is distorted. The design of this is 20 years too old. It does not represent what the consumer needs. No one needs a complex mess of buttons and options to listen to music and watch tv or movies. I’ve had thus years now and it’s never been optimally installed and I’m sure 95% of the people using this have similar problems. Would never buy another Yamaha product ... they used to be so good at music. Wow how things have changed. This company missed the memo on digital transformation
    *********

    This sounds ok but I hate how it turns off the picture to my tv when I listen to music from my phone. When entertaining I like to have some HD playing with music. This could be something I have not configured correctly and will update as I play with this more.

    Audio quality was okay but nothing spectacular and underwhelming surround for a product that is labeled for 7.1 channel effect. Subwoofer had a localized effect and often pulls surround effect towards it. I have an open lay out living room probably why I had no back surround effect. Any decent amp with 3.1 speaker setup which I have in my case, can do better than this in an open layout.

    Does a good job at projecting sound, but the soundbar is particularly weak, which is extremely noticeable once the sub is disconnected. Almost all mids are produced by the sub. Sub doesn't produce a very deep low, which is important to me.

    I purchased this to go with my LG OLED 65E6P. I wanted a soundbar that is slim but also delivers great sound. I am not an audiophile but this Yamaha sounds great and has exceeded my expectations. I have read "great reviews" of Definitive Technology W Studio. I had Definitive Technology W Studio for 1 day which I connected to my LG OLED 65E6P. It took me only a few minutes to decide that Definitive Technology was NOT for me. Yamaha YSP 2700 is ideal in size, aesthetics and functionality (4 HDMIs including one ARC HDMI, Blue Tooth, Wifi, Ethernet port, Air play etc). This will not disappoint. Highly recommend.
