The first listing was for the same computer but was marked as "Prime" (which the featured product was not) and when I put it in my cart there was nothing anywhere about it taking a few weeks to ship like the featured product did

The first listing was for the same computer but was marked as "Prime" (which the featured product was not) and when I put it in my cart there was nothing anywhere about it taking a few weeks to ship like the featured product did
I will come back and add to this review in time as I have just received this laptop in the mail yesterday. But that is what I wanted to talk about today. And this first part isn't as much of a review of the product as it is of Amazon itself. When I saw this item listed, I added the featured product to my cart. (Note: There is the feature product, then there are the other products when you click on "New and used" below. ) When I went to my cart, it showed the laptop not shipping until early to middle September. I then removed it from my cart and clicked on the "New and used" section. The first listing was for the same computer but was marked as "Prime" (which the featured product was not) and when I put it in my cart there was nothing anywhere about it taking a few weeks to ship like the featured product did.So, I went through the process to purchase and at the end it said it was going to ship from early to mid-September again. So, I went to the Amazon help section and chatted with a rep there. I told him all of this and that I was under the impression that if an item was marked as Prime, then that meant Amazon had it available and would ship soon enough to meet its Two-day mark. However, I was informed that the computer always had a note on it that it ships in 3-4 weeks. I told him I was fine with waiting if I had to, but joked with him that I did not like waiting for my toys which is why I chose the one that did not have a note about it taking a while to ship. The Amazon rep did not respond to any of my jokes, kept it strictly professional, and ended the conversation. The next day, I received an email that my shipping information had changed. When I pulled up the order, first thing I noticed was that there was a note by the picture of the computer saying it ships in a few weeks. (That had been added.) But also, the shipping date had been moved up from mid-September to the following Wednesday (Today as I write this actually. I received it a day earlier than that!) I can't help but wonder if that Amazon rep who didn't seem to care too much about me having to wait said something to expedite the shipping for me. If so, and you are reading this, Thank you very much Amazon and Amazon rep!!!That was an awesome experience!!Now, as for the laptop. First thing I noticed was the weight. I was actually surprised at how heavy it was. I think it is rated at around 7 lbs. I have two other older laptops that this one will be replacing. One is another Acer 17" LED HD screen that is way bigger, the other a Toshiba 15.6". This one seems to be heavier than both of them (Even the 17 incher!) I guess you get used to it after a while. I just figured that because it was thinner than the other two, it would be lighter as well. I haven't compared the two officially but it just seems a lot heavier than I imagined.I have read some reviews about the plastic around it seeming to be cheap. I think it seems to be a pretty sturdy laptop myself. I wouldn't have any worries carrying it around with me and plan on doing so. I got it to not only replace my other two but to allow me to be a bit more mobile with my work so it will be going around a lot with me. I will update if there are any surprises or issues there.I basically killed the batteries in my other two laptops by leaving them plugged in all the time. So my plan is to try to use this like I would a phone, use it until the battery dies or gets very close, then charge all the way up. That way maybe the battery will last a while. I do, however, like my tech to perform at or near their max most of the time. So I have the power settings set to High Performance. So we will see what that does to my battery life. This is my first SSD laptop so of course I am blown away by the boot time of this thing! It is about 5-10 seconds after I turn it on and I am ready to start doing things! Which is what I need because in my job (Lawyer) my time is my money. (And my clients'. So less time I can bill them for waiting for my computer to boot up the happier they are as well.)Haven't tried the gaming yet. I want to see if I can load a game and stream it over the wifi to my Samsung Gear VR. Supposedly you can do this with regular computer games and experience them in first person through the headset. This has a pretty decent graphics card so I am going to try that out when I get the chance.I guess that is it for now. As of now, totally worth the money!!
