I bought this cleaning/polishing cloth to brighten up a very old gold link chain. I had previously soaked the chain in ammonia, and that removed a bunch of grime that was not all that obvious. Then after running under water and letting the chain dry, I used the white cleaning side of the cloth, and boy was I surprised just how much more residue remained on that old chain! Lastly the polishing side brought the chain back to life. This was so much easier because the cloth is a very nice large size, which a smaller size would have been too tedious.
