About this item

  • Lightweight Crossover Shelter- All the benefits of a sled shelter with twice the room gives you more fishable area than any comparable sled style shelter by utilizing fiberglass poles and hub technology.
  • Designed with two oversized doors to allow anglers easy access to the incredibly large fishing area inside. Heavy-duty material sewn over corner joints for reinforcement.
  • The extra-large windows and coverings allow you to control the amount of light being let into your shelter and give you visibility without having to leave your seat.
  • 300 Denier IceTight fabric with 59% higher thread count vs. Comparable shelters. Our IQ fabric covers the top and back. The black insulated material helps absorb and hold heat as well as reducing condensation.
  • The unique shape allows the venting system to trap heat low in the shelter and force wind to flow smoothly around the outside—eliminating noisy flapping of the skin during windy days. Featuring self-tapping ice anchors that are easier to grip and will not bend under pressure.

Modified to fit my needs
First off I love the square footage and space you have to move around in the EVO1 but it can be a pain to pop up at first until you get the hang of it. I put mine on some skis to keep it from plowing through the snow and it helped a ton. I also gutted the and seat put a deluxe camp chair in it and its lighter and way more comfortable.Overall this shanty fits what I need and I would recommend it to anyone.

Two monkeys and a giraffe could have done a better job of delivering the product. It went together very easily, lots of room. Goes up easily in summer weather, have to see in the winter. I would suggest you watch a video on youtube about how to put up(Eskimo employees). There are other videos of how not to put up the shelter. Well now I have used the EVO1it in winter works nicely after you get a system down to put up. I also have an Eskimo quick flip one. There are trade-offs with both shelters. The EVO1 is not good for run and gunning, but a lot of room when set up. I have a milk crate and I set my lil buddy heater on top. The EVO1 you could have another fisherman over to the side of shanty sitting on a bucket. The Eskimo quick fish 1 is very tight for room again I use the milk crate with my fish finder in it and set lil buddy heater on top of crate . Only room for couple of holes, but very easy to run and gun. I guess all I can say Is they both work very well, well built easy to pull.

Supper fast shipping. The instructions were easy to understand and made it a breeze to put together. I’ve had it out on the ice once and love room and height that it has. You definitely need to use the anchors that are provided. With the sun out I was fishing in my T-shirt. It held up good in the wind but. I am going to be replacing the fiberglass support poles with Aluminum adjustable poles that won’t bend in the wind. The first time putting it up wasn’t bad as long as you pay attention to what your doing. For 100+ lbs it’s not bad putting it in the back of my truck by myself. I’m very happy with my purchase.

This shelter is very roomy compared to the older versions of the flip design. The sled still takes up a fair portion of the shelter. If th sled were turned 90 degrees then it would give more room. Also the sled that is provided is fairly flimsy. It will need extreme care to last more than a season. I would have to do a revamp on the sled. Other manufactures have much better sleds. I built steel runners with some flat stock and 1/4" round. Big improvment on ice without snow.

What a sleek looking shelter! Tolerances are nice, and the seat frame torqued down nicely. The "nuts and bolts" bag was missing the nylon washers for the pivoting part of the seat though. I went to the H store and bought replacements. Had to sand them down to a proper fit. Also had a singular bolt with no apparent use. Couple of other spare bolts, but were at least matching the needed sizes. Sorry, but that's one star...Many of the bolts are very similar, so spread them out and match 'em up beforehand. The sled is thicker plastic than what I was expecting. Nice. Seat is comfortable and solid feeling for a 190 lb reviewer. The black sections of the shelter are a quilted looking material which is the insulated part. The red parts are a nice heavy type nylon weave. Nice big zipper and teeth on door with pull tags attached. Can't see it freezing up too bad at all. Great visibility and light with the blinds open. Windows and blinds attach with velcro. And quite easy and quick to set up. I highly recommend a cordless drill and the Eskimo attachment for screwing in the ice anchors. Shelter will be up and running in just a few minutes. The shelter only comes with six anchors. To fully optimize for high winds you will want 8 anchor points(6 for the shelter, 2 for the guy lines).

The second star deducted was during assembly. The first time I "popped" the top, pop-up section, one of the poles tore through the end. Fortunately I am a cranky Yankee who has done this repair before on a different shelter/blind. But it cost me time, and a lost day of playing with my new toy! and now I am nervous, looking at seams... Did I mention it also pissed me off? I would have taken two stars for that, but overall I like the design, the roominess, speed of setup, and quality of the the materials.

My ice fishing strategy might be more of a "run and gun" strategy with an ATV when going for lakers this year. Which is why I bought this shelter in the first place. Tell me I won't need duct tape, and a sewing kit, and I would buy it again. Happy Fishing!

I bought this tent online and after following the directions and putting it together I noticed the inside of the tent cover was damaged and there was missing parts. I called Eskimos customer service and gave them the serial number and model number and they sent me the missing parts and a new cover which was the wrong cover so back on the phone again and finally got the right cover after the season was over lol. So I never got to try it out on the ice yet. It looks like it has plenty of room and a good design but very poorly made. I am very disappointed in the quality of the product especially for the price. For how cheaply it is made it should not cost more than $150. I will never buy a Eskimo product again, just to cheaply made. It's a shame I always thought Eskimo was a name brand and not a fly by night China company.
