Fit perfectly out of the box. Very warm, sturdy, supportive sole. Good traction on icy pavement. You can ignore cold while standing still in low temperatures. I recommend a good quality wool sock to keep your feet dry. I wear Materials : 75% Merino wool , 20% Nylon , 3% Polyester , 2% Lycra. A cotton sock will not wick dry your feet if you are spending too much time indoors. Tried both the first two days. Wool wins hands down. Oh, BTW, the wool socks were by Columbia.

Comfortable, warm, and dry, this is exactly what I wanted in a winter boot. If you're unaccustomed to wearing boots or simply haven't worn a pair in a while be aware that it does take time to break these in. They're very stiff at first but after wearing them for a few days they're already much more comfortable.
