Haven't tested the mic yet. Will probably edit this review when I do so.
The sound quality is pretty good. Handles gaming sounds very well, though it handles low end better than high end, but you should be able to make adjustments on a console, computer, or smartphone. Compared to my Sony MDR-XB950BT the sound isn't quite as good, but those are $150-200 headphones made specifically for music, so the fact that I can even compare them is pretty impressive for an $80 headset.
One minor complaint I have is that the cord isn't detachable. It would make storing it easier and make me less worried about it getting damaged at the connection point, but you just have to be a little more careful when storing them.
Speaking of the cord, the 3.5 mm jack and the mic jack are apparently "gold plated" (may be rhodium)...they at least have a gold color, so I'll give HyperX the benefit of the doubt and assume that they are, so that's a nice touch.
I’ve never had headphones so comfortable.
damn things are noice cancelling because I can’t hear anyone.
My buddies say the mic quality is better than a50s
For hearing I can hear everybody and they mommas including little Timmy across the map.
I’m starting to see some wear and tear with them as the audio is messing up on my right ear and the mic foam is breaking but I love it so much I don’t want to replace it. I’ve never had headphones last this long before
Pros: Lightweight
Durable
Good sound quality
Threaded cable
Aesthetically pleasing
Cons
Only con I’ve found is the ear cuffs don’t rotate side to side, personally I never use that functions anyways, but some may find a problem with that.
Size wise I wear a medium sized hat, and these fit perfectly snug. With glasses I needed a break every half hour or so. I also get moist ears, so that plays a part in break necessity. The padding and padding cover are very comfortable. Not something I'd rave about, but the comfort level is about 8/10. I can handle the earbuds for about 45 minutes to an hour before I have to remove them for a break. With the HyperX, initial playtime is more like an hour and a half before I forced an unnecessary break. Then I had breaks every half hour thereafter.
Getting into battery life, they drain the Xbox 1 controller faster than the buds (of course.) They drain the batteries probably twice as fast as the earbuds. I go about 6-8 hours or so between battery changes with the earbuds (I use eneloop pro rechargeables.) With the HyperX I had to change the batteries at 3 and a half hours. No problem as I have a backup pair ready to swap out, but I had to be mindful while gaming. Changing out batteries between rounds is a bit stressful. Had to choose an operator immediately then swapped out batteries as fast as possible.
I didn't test the mic (I know, I know.) I don't normally communicate unless there's a good group. Random casuals don't always provide the best of crowds, so.... yeah. In four hours I didn't feel like conversing.
For the price... I'm not sure I would purchase again. Something ten times less is just as effective, and also has no echo in the mic (the buds are basically cell-phone headphones.) Neither are the crazy Dolby 7.1 blah blah headsets of desire, so I assume any decent pair of mic'd headphones with stereo can compare. The way the HyperX is built... I'd say I'm paying for durability. They are quite sturdy and feel solid. The cable is a very heavy duty threaded cable, but the plug sticks out about an inch from the jack. If you rest a controller on your lap there might be an issue as there is a lot of leverage for the possibility for breakage. I will provide an update after some weeks/months of use for a more weathered review.
Edit 12/13/2022: This headset is still going strong. I've not been gaming at all for about three years. I have been working remotely for over two years, and use this headset about half the time for meetings. The comfort is still there, but the volume adjuster has proven problematic with one side or the other cutting out. I have to spin the volume wheel back and forth to try and get both R/L drivers to work at the same time. Very frustrating. When it works, it's a amazing. Same great quality as the first days of use. The ear padding is still supple, but the faux leather coating is starting to peel away at the plastic side of the padding. I'm not sure if I'd get this headset again, but I've had expensive Sony headsets which have lasted half the time. So, I recommend this as a great starter headset for any gamer. Sound is very crísp, and deep bass is definitely present. The mic comes through very clear (as I've been told), but I've had to be a little louder than normal.

L'audio in generale è abbastanza equilibrato. Comprato come ricondizionato a 55 euro mi posso ritenere soddisfatto.
